Customers say: Quality work

"The owner, Ben, came personally and cleared two clogged sinks, flushed two water heaters, and then even fixed water pressure issues that I had with two separate sinks at no extra charge! I called the day before and he answered immediately and answered all of my questions. He then came out the next day, right on time, and completed all of the work. He gave a written quote BEFORE touching a thing, which was very competitive, and left no room for surprises. I would hire him again and recommend Ben and his team without hesitation!"

"I have used Direct Source Plumbing 3 times in the past 8 months for setting a new tub, clearing and installing a toilet in another bath room, and this evening clearing a hair clog and a backed up toilet, 1 yr old watching things disappear. Every job was responded to immediately, resolved quickly and primarily reasonably priced. Would not, hesitate, to recommend Directs service and certainly will continue to call again for prompt, courteous service."

"Excellent job by all I worked with. My wife even commented how every one from the dig crew to plumber we are very nice. I have building experience but it was nice that the first service tech walked me through the issues and even let me view everything he was viewing. Gave me three solutions and good/bad of each. When it comes to the actual work it was done exactly as discussed. No surprises and no hidden charges. Nice to work with a service provider that does what they say, no surprises, and put my yard back to original. I will definitely use them again for my plumbing needs. "

"Arrived on time, quoted a price to clear a clogged drain and repair two toilets that were "singing." Left to pick up parts, returned and completed the job effectively. Was careful and personable. We were very satisfied and would use him again and recommend him Alex"

"With the help of Angi, some plumbers from different companies came to check our under foundation leaks the same day. Craig from Stalcup came and we decided to go with him. We were very happy with our decision. He gave us the best price in all and knew exactly what the problem was. In addition, he was kind, friendly and very professional. We definitely will need his help in the future and highly recommend him . Tammy and Le"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Grand Prairie, TX

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
