"The owner Kelly was very helpful with choosing flowers, arrangements and other table decorations. She worked with us to stay within our budget, was very responsive to questions and requests and flexible in meeting our needs. Her flowers and arrangements were a major part of a beautiful wedding. Overall a total pleasure to work with. <br />"

"All four outdoor lamp posts work now. When we bought the house, the seller's (a professional house flipping/restoring company) said it was going to take weeks/months to figure out how to get the outdoor lamp posts working and this was going to push back the closing date which was unacceptable to us. So, we hired Jeff Mitchell Lighting and within an hour he had the issue(s) diagnosed and had it fixed shortly after. The lights look great now. He also gave me quite a few options for various issues like what lights we can use, how to switch/control the lights, etc."

"The owner, Jeff Tullis personally came to our house with an estimate and to be sure we had the correct lights. His crew was the most professional we have ever seen, calling in advance, highly respectful and totally professional. The work was performed on budget, and actually completed 1 week early. The outcome was perfect.Jeff was terrific, constantly checking with us and his installers to be sure the job was done correctly and to our satisfaction. Our house is now the envy of our neighbors, and looks beautiful when the lights go on at dusk."

"My house was vacant aside from some clutter in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom. I assumed they wouldn't clean these 2 places and was fine with that. However, given that I had just put in new carpet and had the would floors recently refinished, that left only a handful of places that needed actual cleaning. There was some duck tape residue on the basement floor that was not touched. This was probably my main reason for hiring professional cleaners. When they requested feedback and I mentioned the residue, they responded that they tried to clean it but don't have any residue remover. I responded that they should let people know there are things they don't clean as part of their 'deep cleaning' service, which is one of the main reasons for this review. On top of that, they didn't do some of the basic stuff. They had a checklist they left and some items were clearly marked as being cleaned but were not (to be fair I don't know whether they were skipped, it's possible they were just badly cleaned to the point that I couldn't tell the difference, which I guess is a slightly better alternative). The most obvious ones were the basement floor wasn't mopped and blinds weren't cleaned. The blinds seemed to look worse for some strange reason - several large brown spots that looked like spills from soda. My response to their feedback request basically said that my main objective in hiring them was to get my house completely clean before selling it, with price a secondary concern. I would have happily given them more money to get the house actually clean. I was ready to chalk it up to a bad experience but their response to my feedback was very defensive (attached pics of the places with clutter they couldn't get to, which I didn't even mention in my feedback) and didn't address anything I actually did say aside from telling me they don't clean duck tape residue (and didn't offer to come back and clean anything they missed). I felt like I gave them some good feedback that was ignored - i.e. when someone says they are getting their house cleaned in order to sell it, just walk through the house and clean what needs to be cleaned, whether it's on a checklist or not. If something seems difficult, contact the customer to let them know it will take X amount of hours and ask if that's acceptable, rather than just not doing it. C minus grade bordering on D."

"Contacted Ryan at the Home show and he come over to the house and showed us how the house would look by doing a temporary install. It took 2 1/2 to 3 hours to set up. <br /> When it was turned on it made the whole house and yard explode with light. It was awesome. <br /> We signed up on the spot for him to do the install. <br /> The quality of the lights (LED) are the best. <br /> My neighbors are always complimenting us on how great the house looks at night now. <br /> The install was professional and the crew including Ryan did an awesome job. <br />"

"<p>Everything went very well. The crew that came out were on time and very professional and very friendly. We let them know that we were also putting in a fence and they made allowances for that. After everything was complete (and everything was cleaned up) we were given instructions on how to operate the system. It couldn't have gone smoother. After the fence was installed we called and asked to have someone come out and make changes to a couple of the sprinkler heads and that was completed within a couple of days. Team Pro Inc is a very good company to work with. We are completely happy and we know we can call them next year to make changes when the patio installed and new shrubbery is added to the yard.</p> <br />"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Granite City, IL

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
