"If you’ve lived in North Texas long, you’ve probably had your roof repaired or replaced, usually due to hail and/or high winds. I’ve had at least 4 roofs in 2 different houses the best I can recall. In Texas, roofing companies are not licensed like plumbers and electricians. So due diligence is recommended when you need a roofing company. The first thing I did was call my insurance agent. She gave me a list of 3 or 4 that she has had experience with and so the search begins. I ended up with Lon Smith Roofing in Fort Worth for several reasons. First and perhaps foremost, they’ve been in business since 1974. Second their BBB report is exemplary. Third they are a recommended company on Angi. I first met with Thomas who provided an estimate for repairs. This had to be compared to what my insurance estimator had provided but there were no issues there. After a couple of conversations with Thomas, I was convinced that an upgraded shingle was worth the extra money. After speaking with my insurance agent, I also discovered I would be saving a considerable amount on my home owner’s policy. Enough to cover the cost of the upgrade in 2 years! Not to mention, less likely to be damaged in the future. Another savings (deductibles!) Another surprise was it is quieter. One morning I went outside to get the paper and found it was raining…hard. I didn’t even hear it inside. Thomas was easy to work with. I was able to schedule the installation when I was going to be out of town. You don’t want to be inside your house when a new roof is installed. After the installation was complete, I found the yard clean and free of debris. The flower beds were protected although I did find one flower stem bent. I then received a call and visit from David who was the on-site supervisor and quality control inspector. He asked to come inside to make sure none of the vents (HVAC, water heater) to the roof had come loose during the installation. They hadn’t. I showed him a few cracks and nail pops that had appeared. He took pictures and had repairmen out to repair them the next week! All I can say is that this is a reputable company that is easy to work with from both the customer and the insurance company’s perspective. I can easily recommend Lon Smith Roofing."

"My house was hit hard by egg-sized hail in April 2021 so I called 3-4 roofers, including Roger the Roofer, shortly afterwards to assess the damage. Juston Preble with Roger the Roofer was the first to come and by far the most thorough in his inspection. He even used a drone to aerially photograph the roof so that physically getting on the roof wasn’t necessary – both for his own sake (steep slopes) and not causing further roof damage. The photos revealed the hail completely pierced the existing shingles exposing the underlayment in numerous places throughout the entire roof which meant my roof was at imminent risk of leaking. Of course, Juston already had quite a few roof replacements scheduled ahead of me but said he would be willing to call others ahead of me whose roof was not imminently at risk of leakage to see if they would be willing trade places on his schedule. Due to Roger the Roofer’s high rating in Angi, was recommended by my insurance company, and Juston’s very good first impression, I hired Roger the Roofer do my roof repair and gutter replacement. I was not disappointed. Thanks to Juston and his other client agreeing to trade places on his schedule, Juston was able to have my roof replaced the week following my first contact with him. Even though my existing roof didn’t have any turbo exhaust vents, Juston installed 3 of them with no upcharge in spite of not being covered by insurance. While the gutter replacement didn’t happen until some weeks later, that was expected. But similar to the vents upgrade, Juston offered to and did install upgraded gutter downspouts from what I had previously with no upcharge (and also not covered by insurance). Last but not least, once all the work was completed, Juston had someone come pressure wash my driveway to remove the marks the hail made at no extra charge. To say the least, I was very impressed with the quality of work Roger the Roofer did under Juston’s team and his willingness to go the extra mile. I would definitely would hire him again (although I hope to not have to) and highly recommend his company."

"We just had our roof replaced by Platform Construction and Roofing, 817-776-0302 Truly the first firm that were 100% honest, transparent in costs, timely in communications and did excellent work. Top of the line materials: shingles, and gutters. They reworked and stopped a roof leak on our screened in porch that the original installation company never could repair. They did a power wash of our cedar fence and restained. It looks brand new!! We enjoyed getting to know our Project Manager Desmond and his boss Ryan. Who will thoroughly clean your driveway and pick up small debris from your lawn? Well, Kenneth will and he is a very proud individual and definitely takes his job very serious. "Aaron Nicholson did an excellent job fixing a minor roof leak issue quickly. I discovered the issue on a Saturday night, left a voicemail Sunday morning, got a call back within 30 minutes, and Aaron was able to come to my house Monday morning to inspect the issue. Luckily it was an easy issue, and Aaron was able to fix it on the spot. He was the only firm indicating that they are open for business on a weekend on Angie's list. Now, that is customer service.
