"terrific! It took Day Star about an hour to locate where the break in the circuit was (in the wiring behind an old smoke detector). Two other Angi-highly-rated companies had failed to diagnose the problem. Day Star squeezed us in early on their schedule. The two person team was friendly, professional, and super skilled. I'm hoping to keep using Day Star for all future electrical issues that may come up. From our experience they are absolutely the very best."

"We had a long list of very specific requests: installing new light fixtures and switches, removing canned lights, repairing broken rocker plates, even hard-wiring a Mexican tin star as a light. From the beginning, Melissa got us scheduled on our preferred dates, Joe came out on a weekend to give an estimate, Ryan and Mike used their incredible electrician skills to overcome our challenges. We are "over the moon" happy! "

"These guys were great. Came out when they said they would, looked at the job and gave me a super fair quote and finished same day. They even went as far as to patch the holes they made in order to install the wall charger. Would highly recommend. "

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Green Valley, AZ

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
