He's an exceptionally pleasant human being to be around. He was knowledgeable about what needed to be done and exercised his considerable expertise to make recommendations and shape the project in ways this layperson could not have contemplated. He listened to what I wanted and suggested enhancements that were hard to reject. I am particularly pleased with the plants he picked out and where he placed them while my kids agree the turf is best thing we've done to the house. I love that my kids have a new, safe, and beautiful play surface to enjoy. I'd trust Excell Landscaping with any landscaping job. I'm currently planning a hardscape lighting project with them and sometimes in the future plan to replace some dull brick with pavers. If I get results similar on future jobs, I'll be immensely pleased."

They were extremely helpful through the whole process and had an abundance of knowledge when it came to materials and design. Not to mention, they were significantly more affordable than the competition. Our backyard came out better than we could have possibly imagined! If you need any landscaping work done at your home we could not give a higher recommendation for this crew."

"Pros- very good price for grass and install, friendly workers and Julian, the owner was very nice. My dogs also love it and they stay clean. Cons-3 day job turned into 2weeks, slope of grade had to be done 2 times, seams clearly show even after I had them come back to fix them. Uneven compaction shows ripples in the turf, grass is growing through the weep holes only 2 months after install due to not enough compaction material or weed barrier. Too many excuses for not showing up, and when they did it was late in the day. Just not what I expected! Guess I am stuck with the results."

"Matt and Luis are the best! I requested a quote on a Saturday night. They were at my house on Sunday, came up with fabulous design ideas and began work on Monday! They always had at least 3 guys working and finished in less than 8 days. They designed the entire backyard, added turf, lighting, a large paver patio for a pergola and a paver path around the side of the house. We picked out our plants and they finished up! I highly recommend them. They were super friendly, professional and the paver work was performed in a very exacting manner. Initially I didnt really know what I wanted, but after explaining our style, Matt just ran with it.....homerun!"

"I feel bad writing this review because L&M are very nice; however my experience left me so upset that I can't let it go. Things started off great - they showed up as scheduled for a consultation and I chose them based off the great reviews on Angi, Matt's friendliness and responsiveness, and the reasonable price I was quoted. It turned out that the project was more complicated than they expected so they ended up charging me nearly $3000 over the quoted price. I understand sometimes projects go over budget but, as professionals, they should have known to a reasonable degree what the project would entail. When I explained this, they gave me a "deal" and only charged me $2000 over the quote and offered a discount on future work. Ok, fine. After the project was "finished" my husband and I found an extensive list of issues with the work (mostly very minor, except for some cement that was poured such that my gate would no longer open and close). They fixed all of these, I paid them and all was fine. Flash forward a couple of weeks and I'm about to order a gazebo for the paver slab they installed and instead of the 13X13 I requested it actually measures 12x10. Admittedly, I should have noticed this earlier but I was preoccupied with the extra $2k I had just paid for the job. When I messed M about this he replied the "the slab is 12x12". Huh?? When stated again, no it is 12X10 he never replied. So in short: project was misquoted and off by $3000 and the work was not done to specification. I would have rated 2 stars, but the paver work is beautiful and, had everything been done correctly, I certainly would have recommended L&M to others. My recommendation for anyone using this company is to have the quote and specs written down before they start."
