"We could not be happier with the roof and gutter work! Both look great! The crew worked quickly and efficiently and left nothing for us to have to clean up after they finished. Would highly recommend this company for roofing and/or gutters. A+"

"Excellent quality of work on 2-day job. 2-man crew was courteous & efficient, clean-up was perfect. They didn’t want any $ up front or even upon completion, but sent an invoice a week or so later. Price was on the high side, but worth it for quality of work. Would hire again."

"It went exceedingly well. When the job was bid they told us up front that they were scheduled for the next four weeks. It ended up being seven weeks but we had a long stretch of very bad weather over which they had no control. They estimated that it would take three days  and by working some long hours they met that schedule. Cleanup was done on a daily basis and then one final sweep upon completion. Very happy with the roof and the workmanship."

"We had contacted Mr. Campbell concerning the closing in of a porch that was off of our kitchen.  We wanted to be able to one day put cabinets and countertops and extend our kitchen.  The work to be done were as follows: <br /> 1. Repair some burnt wood flooring near the fireplace. <br /> 2. Modify a counter top and install a new over counter mounted kitchen sink(sink not included in bid) <br /> 3. Installation only of a ceiling fan in kitchen. <br /> 4. Switch the location of refrigerator with a base cabinet. <br /> 5. Install a folding work table. <br /> 6. Close up a 10x10 foot porch, replace existing siding and install to the outside wall, rough in new electrical, insulate walls and paint. <br /> 7. Open up wall between kitchen and porch, drywall and paint. <br /> 8. Remove floor deck boards and install new wood floor. <br /> 9. Insulate ceiling and install tongue and groove boards. <br /> This covers the vast majority of the work that was to be done.  Mr. Campbell was great throughout the estimate.  He spelled out every item of work and priced them out so that they could be understood.  Our problem was that we had a taste for steak on a hamburger budget.  No fault of Mr. Campbell's but we were unable to have the work done."

"From start to finish, everything was great. I was concerned with a couple of reviews but was easily comforted once the process started. Austin, the owner, was very professional. The crew took time cover my flower beds and clean up after the roof was installed. Soon after the installation, a storm come through and I called Austin with concerns. He had no problems sending someone out to make sure everything held up properly. I will not hesitate to recommend QE Restoration. They are A+ in my book."

"When choosing the color for the roof, I was having trouble with a meeting time and Justin gave me the website to check them.  When they came, they were there at the time promised, with a full crew.  They covered my flower beds and the yard near the house to catch the debris from the old roof.  When they were finished the next day, they cleaned everything up, put things such as landscape lights very near where they belonged and except for a tire mark in a really difficult place to back a trailer left nothing to mark their time here except my new roof.  (And Justin came back and fixed the tire mark!) <br />"

".They showed when they said they would and cleaned everything up.  It looks good.  I think they provide their customers with thicker/stronger boards to sit on while in the shelter.  I also think the shelters should come at least 5.5 to 6 feet tall.  Most families have at least one family member or friend that is over 5 feet tall.  If we have to stay in it for a hour to several hours, we need to be able to stand up.  They were careful with the equipment and quick.  I recommend you look for any cracks in your garage around where they will be installing the shelter and driveway, so if you see any cracks once they are finished you can have them fix it.  I also recommend that you tell your neighbors that you will be having a shelter installed and ask if they can move their vehicles out of the street.  Ground Zero has a very long trailer they pull their equipment on and they need room to turn around on/in the street. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Greenback, TN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
