"We had a large solar system installed a year ago by a local solar company. After a year the system melted down due to some faulty wiring. It took a month before the system was functional again, but our battery was also taken out in the melt down. We were told it would take a few weeks to get the paperwork through the system to warranty out our battery. After waiting three months we decided to contact Green Ridge Solar to see if they could help with our problem. To say they were life savers is an understatement. They answered the phone immediately, understood the problem and sent out a very experienced electrician in a very timely manner. They were able to warranty out our existing battery and we decided to order an additional battery through their company. The new battery was only half the cost from the first one that was installed by the original company. They were fast, friendly and professional. I would hire them again in a heart beat."

"We chose this installer because they seemed professional and even discussed optimizing our solar layout. Based on their assurances, we confirmed the project 2.5 months before the federal tax credit deadline, expecting timely completion. To proceed, we canceled another installer with a faster timeline and stopped pursuing two others offering better pricing. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. From signing onward, there were no proactive updates?only delayed responses after repeated follow-ups. After weeks of asking for an installation timeline, we were told at the last minute they were short-staffed and couldn?t finish in December. This left us no time to find alternatives, causing us to lose the federal tax credit. This feels like a bait-and-switch tactic: promises made to secure our business, then failure to deliver, resulting in significant financial harm. If you value transparency and timely execution, look elsewhere."

FAQs for solar panel installation projects in Gresham, OR

If you experience frequent power outages, want to become more energy independent, or aim to reduce your reliance on the grid, investing in a solar battery system can be worthwhile. With a solar battery, you'll have backup power day or night, even if the local grid fails. However, to power larger appliances or ensure you have energy for longer periods, you'll need to invest in multiple batteries. While the upfront cost is higher, many homeowners find the added peace of mind to be well worth the investment.

Solar battery storage capacity is measured in kilowatt-hours, which directly indicates the amount of energy the battery can store. This measurement determines how long essential appliances will continue operating during an outage. A clear understanding of capacity helps in planning the overall system size to ensure effective backup power and to maintain optimal performance even as the battery ages.

Determining the correct size for your solar battery system requires evaluating your monthly energy usage. Start by reviewing your utility bills to identify your average consumption, and then match the battery’s kilowatt-hour rating to cover essential loads. Consulting with a solar professional ensures that the system is sized to deliver continuous backup power, meeting both immediate and future energy needs.

A solar battery's lifespan ranges from five to 15 years, and its durability is affected by battery quality, charging frequency, and environmental conditions. Regular maintenance and proper usage are key to maximizing longevity. Monitoring your system, following manufacturer guidelines, and scheduling routine inspections all help ensure that your battery performs reliably throughout its service life.
