"Brian and his team were excellent. Their work was of very high quality. They took the time to take down all wall hangings, move the furniture, remove the shutters to paint the siding underneath them and anything else that needed done. Brian was very patient with us while we took the time to select the color of the exterior paint and was helpful with bringing samples of different colors and showing us how they would look by painting small patches. He and his crew even came back to paint a small area that was accidentally missed. Brian and his crew were very professional - I would recommend them highly."

"We hired Matt to paint our home and apartments, and he did an outstanding job! From the start, he provided a great quote and showed up every day ready to work with professionalism and attention to detail. One thing I really appreciated was Matt’s recommendation to fix the ceiling in our home from a previous painter’s mistakes, which made a huge difference in the final look. He took his time to smooth everything out and ensure a clean, even finish—especially in the front playroom, one of the bedrooms, and our room, where you can really see the transformation. If you’re looking for a reliable and skilled painter, I highly recommend Matt. Thanks again, Matt, for the excellent work!"

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Guilderland-center, NY

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
