"I used Kirkland Custom Cabinets, Inc. We used them about seven weeks ago. They charged $600. It was really good. I would give them high marks all across the board. The quality of work, they stayed on budget, on time and the technician actually helped me install the stuff which was more than they signed up to do. So they really did a good job and did extra."

"I highly recommend Keith and Nick for refinishing hardwood flooring. We hired a contractor to install and finish new hardwood flooring in our home. This person did not sand the flooring properly and it had a very rough feel and appearance. We had to find another contractor in the middle of the job. I called local businesses that sell hardwood, for advice, and Final Finish was recommended. Keith and Nick are true craftsmen who care about the quality of their work. Nick turned a disaster into a beautiful floor! Thank you again. We love our floor and are very happy that we found you!"

"Kevin & crew were on time, efficient and very attentive to detail. The first crew tore out old cabinets and then the next crew was ready with the new cabinets. A painter was also on duty to caulk and touch up."

"Chris Olson is the owner / craftsman of this company. He worked for and later purchased Carpentry Concepts from the Coffey family.  He's young, but has the work ethic of an old world craftsman.  He was prompt, reasonably priced, and made sure we were all on the same page.  We had drawn up what we thought we wanted and he explained why we may want to change some of the dimensions.  I really appreciated his input.  He was willing to make whatever we wanted in whichever material we chose, but carefully explained what to expect from each of the finishes, colors, and types of wood.  We did experience a problem several weeks later; but Chris immediately set our minds at ease that it would be taken care of.... and, it was.  I cannot explain how pleased we were with his professionalism, work ethic, and talent.  <br />"

"We met Clayton in the showroom and told her that we were remodeling our kitchen.  She took the time to listen to our requirements before taking us into the warehouse to show us the various granite slabs that were available.  They had a great selection from which to choose.  Clayton also helped us with our backsplash options. <br /> The countertop and backsplash were installed a couple of weeks after we placed the order.  Everything was completed just as Clayton had promised.  All of the installers (countertop, plumbing, and tile backsplash) were very professional and did the work in just a few days.  We are extremely happy with the results. <br />"

"We are fixing up this old house to sell and can't justify putting a lot of money into renovating the kitchen and bathrooms. Resurfacing seemed our best option, and I researched Get A Grip's product and service. I called Tommie , and after returning my call and making an appointment, he came to the house to give an estimate. He didn't have his laptop or samples with him, and he is a real talker, but he did seem to know his and quot;stuffand quot;. <br /> I had done my research so I was familiar with what could be done. He did help us by not pushing for resurfacing of the shower and tub, but by telling us that they could most likely be cleaned, which was less money. He said that he would e-mail a bid/quote. A week later he phoned in a general bid, but we wanted a detailed quote, so he once again said he would e-mail one. Three weeks later we called him, he couldn't remember who we were, and said he'd come by the house to take a look again. Which he did, and did have samples this time. We received the e-mail quote about a week later, and scheduled the work. <br /> Tommie is pretty rough around the edges, and a real talker. He showed up with one other worker a little before the 0830 appointed time. They opened all the windows and got to work-this is really toxic stuff so be prepared for unpleasant odors in spite of the ventilation. Our formerly plum colored laminate counter is now a modern black resembling a and quot;stoneand quot; look, although not exactly as I expected based on the sample I viewed previously, and could not be matched because Tommie forgot his samples AGAIN! I am pleased with the outcome, however, and it was a fraction of the cost of replacement. So far it's durable and easy to clean and lives up to the promises of the website. <br /> The stains on the tub and tile shower were impossible for us to clean, we tried every cleaning product we could find and nothing worked for us. Whatever it was, what they did was a near miracle-both the tub and shower are perfectly white and not a trace of stain remains! <br /> Tommie is more than a little crude, but he delivers on the work. As far as I can tell there isn't any competition for him, so he's the only choice for this kind of restoration/resurfacing. I have never dealt with anyone quite like him, but we were very pleased with the work."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Guntersville, AL

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
