I was always able to call in to the service department with questions and they helped resolve all of my concerns. "The exterior of our house in NW Evanston was damaged to the tune of nearly $25k following a significant hail storm. When it came time to replace our aluminum siding with Hardie we called Joe on the recommendation of a neighbor. Joe earned our trust early with great communication and helpful guidance throughout the claim process and was onsite to maximize the claim with our adjuster. We eventually received 4-6 competitive quotes on the project before signing a contract. Joe took the time to review these quotes and match another well-reviewed local contractor. The eventual teardown and installation took nearly 2 weeks, but Joe stopped by every 2 or so days to provide updates and finalize last minute color and design choices. "Received 4 other estimates before John's appointment. My house is two-tone with a white band around the middle (between the 2 colors). John was the only sales person who explained why the bottom portion of the siding was rotting and falling off. He offered to side only the bottom portion of the house (the top portion is fine). John also made the suggestion to edge the house in white. The quality of the siding is excellent and the white edging really makes the house stand out. We had a "complicated" set of circumstances when our home was damaged by a storm, last winter. The insurance company sent out an estimator to assess the damage and, after the company recommended J & K Home Improvement & Restoration, I was introduced to John Lee. I eventually learned that John also does estimates for a variety of insurance companies (because his company is so well regarded), and he patiently listened as I described the nuances associated with our house. During our initial consultation, he was able to clearly describe all of the steps that would be necessary and answer all of our questions. Long story short, not only was John able to address EVERY single concern and request that we had regarding the eventual repairs to the house (including roof, siding, and a window upgrade that would have cost much more if we had done it at a later time), but he spent plenty of extra time making sure that everything we had talked about was addressed to our 100% satisfaction! He was also able to persuade the insurance company to cover more complete repairs than was originally specified by the first adjuster! In addition, when we had an electrical "hiccup" associated with all the pounding on the walls, John quickly sent an expert electrician to locate and correct the problem. He absolutely could have passed those charges on to us because the failure wasn't due to any mistake on the part of his crew but, instead, he picked up the unanticipated expense himself. It was truly a pleasure to work with John! He made a difficult situation as easy to manage as possible, and we would strongly recommend J & K Home Improvement & Restoration to anyone who wants to hire a quality contractor that stands behind their work and well-earned reputation!"
