"Mr. Douglas came out to my home. I explained to him exactly what the problem is with the door. He assessed the door and proceeded to fix the door with my approval. Mr. Douglas is very meticulous with his work which is greatly appreciated. My storm now closes and we are able to secure the door. I will be calling Mr. Douglas again to come out to my grandmothers home for her door very soon. Mr. Douglas saw that the ramp on the front of my home was not completely up at the front door. Mr Douglas fixed that as well. Thank you very much for your hard work today."

"Very highly recommend. They called immediately and kept in contact with me. There was a storm and water sitting on my roof. They came same day during a storm! Cleaned out my backed up gutters and roofs very efficiently and effectively. Left no mess at all during and after work, continually cleaning up. They even cut down a small tree overhanging my roof. Extremely polite. Amazing service. Fair price. Will definitely use for more jobs. Very trustworthy."

"All done well. Final seal on rhe deck took a while to get done (rain/wet surface delayed it). Phone contacts with road crews were the issue: did not alert us of a cancellation on a wet day they were to seal the deck, then showed up on a later date without warning or a doorbell ring when they did decide to do it. Good, hard, thorough workers, to be sure, and the office-staff phone contacts were all very responsive."

"K&R did an outstanding job in replacing the shingles on my rood. Francisco's crew were very professional and their work ethic was exceptional. Robert Wood supervised the job though-out and ensured that all the details were addressed. Cleanup was ongoing throughout the three day period that they were here. Annette was on site for the entire three days to supervise the cleanup activity, which was considerable. Other than the new roof, you could not tell they were here once the job was completed. Their price was fair for the size of the job."

"The Pros:
- After buying the big deal I was promptly contacted to schedule an appointment for the energy audit and an appointment for the read-out
- During the energy audit Mark Group was here for close to 3 hours. They even went through the crawl spaces.
- Both the person performing the energy assessment and the person who came back to go through the report were prompt, professional and very courteous.
- I received an electronic copy of my energy audit
- I had an energy audit with a blower door test at a previous house. This big deal was a good value
The Cons:
There was one major drawback. After doing the majority of the energy audit, something was discovered in a crawl space that could be mold. Because of that, the blower door test wasn't done for the risk of spreading mold. (As it turns out it was not mold). The real value for me was getting the blower door test done and see where air infiltrations were. I asked if they would come back and complete the blower door test once it was discovered whether that small area had mold or not. The answer was that they would do a blower door test with any job that they did (to see the before and after difference). I did not hire them for any follow-up work, therefore I never got a blower door test.
There was no thermal imaging. I'm not sure if that was because the blower door test wasn't used.
So, for me it really wasn't worth it without the blower door test. But it wasn't their fault they discovered this little piece of something they feared could be mold. This makes it really hard to give them the proper scores and I rated some N/A because of that. I would however, given higher scores if they made the determination of whether if it was mold or not, and when it was determined it was not mold, came out and did the blower door test (which I assume would have thermal imaging go along with it)
***UPDATE After my Angie's List review, Mark Group called and scheduled a time to do the blower door test. I've updated my ratings, since the test was done. The major drawback no longer applies, and now this big deal is a much better value!

"Ran into some minor difficulties getting Maurice out to do the estimate, but eventually he came on October 27 and looked over the windows and counted them. He estimated $240 for the job, which my husband and I thought was very reasonable. I had leaf removal and gutter cleaning already scheduled and Maurice suggested we wait on the windows until those jobs were completed, as the gutter cleaning could dirty the windows. Then we had some weather delays. He finally was able to come on Dec 2. He showed up (accompanied by his brother) an hour and 1/2 after the appointed time. Then he discovered that several of the windows would have to be scraped all over on the outside because of a nasty little artillery fungus that leaves hard little dots on the glass. (I had forgotten to point this out to him when he did the estimate.) This and the late start time slowed them down, and then he said he had to leave to pick up someone at the airport. Apparently he had expected to be finished in time. He did come back the very next morning, however, with two helpers and they finished the job in a few hours. They scraped off all of the fungus and Maurice was very careful to go over the windows until they met his and my satisfaction - and actually there were some windows that he did have to clean several times. Admittedly they were very dirty, but a system of having one person inside and one outside doing the same window would help eliminate some of that. Overall, the process was a little more unwieldy than I would have liked, but Maurice and his team were so nice and so careful that I didn't mind the slight inconvenience. I had offered Maurice the opportunity to reestimate the job because of all the scaping but he refused, saying he sticks by his estimates. I did give him a nice tip, as I felt that he had spent a fair amount of additional time getting those windows scraped."

"We have a contract that we pay monthly for any plumbing and appliance repair, like a home warranty. The guy came out the second time and told my wife that if they couldn't get it fixed they would buy a new dishwasher. So they rank very highly on my scale.
What I like about them is that they do get the job done, but what I don't like is that you can describe in as much detail on the website what the problem is. But it's kinda hit or miss on whether they are have the necessary parts to fix the particular appliance. They almost always have to do second call or buy a part. So like with our dishwasher, they came out and sort of diagnosed the problem but they had to get the motor and things so you can be another week or 10 days with out the dishwasher. Which is not the end of the world. I understand why they don't do that because it could be expensive to buy the parts for all of the different machines that you are servicing."
