"Their business was the closest to our house, so I decided to call them-although my father warned me they were expensive. Boy, were they! Two plumbers worked in our bathroom for about two hours and completed the task, no problems there, BUT they were expensive! They charged us $1,200!!! My Dad was right: They were too expensive! I'll never call them again! How much did "

"I received friendly, professional service from the office, to the in-home assessment and estimate, and the actual work. For me, the quote was accurate, and the work was completed by the same person who gave the estimate. Matt and Ryan were timely and efficient."

"Very well! Got a manufacturer's discount and a ten-year labor warranty, for which I could find no other companies offering. Russ Sprickman, owner, who gave us the quite, was very professional, and broke down the quote the way I wanted it. Two of his sons, Mark and Ron, both with many year experience, did the installation. They were friendly, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up completely afterwards. It's only been a week, but I am quite pleased, and am expecting substantial gas and electric bill savings."

"Again, 2 very nice young men came at 8:20 am and started dismantling our old Unit & not long after a truck delivered the new unit, pad & condenser. They started installing the new unit and condenser without a hitch & by approximately 2:00pm they were done, and this was all done not in a spacious basement but in a very, very small cramped space in our 1 story, no basement, partial attic cottage/home. As they were leaving, we found out that one of these young men worked on our well 3 years before. Outstanding job both times!"

"Bert returned my call within a few hours. We scheduled a time for him to come, but when it rained he promptly called and rescheduled. He was on time, professional, polite and had the job completed to my satisfaction. <br />"

"This work was done on rental house that I recently purchased. <br /> This company came highly regarded by both the water authority and the gas provider. <br /> Their price was reasonable, but not a 'bargain'.   However, I definitely will pay a reasonable rate for a job well done. <br /> The work and workers were professional and punctual and the inspection of the new gas line by the gas company went flawlessly. <br /> They even worked to get the gas line installation "grand-fathered in" because it ran through the row house next to me.  They could very well have told me that it doesn't meet current code in order to do more work and get paid more. <br /> They also found additional gas leaks that the gas company initially missed.  <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Harborcreek, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
