"Had a small concrete job that needed finishing (minor rebar tying and concrete then the concrete mixing/pouring) - and while the weather was good. Anderson was really quick to communicate, and able to give an initial estimate via multiple photos - then followed up with a site visit to confirm. He was able to schedule the job quicker than expected due to finishing another project early, and he (and a helper) worked until nearly dark to finish. They were friendly, hardworking and respectful - leaving the job site as clean as they found it, with only minor clarifications required."

"The owner Joe, seal coated our double driveway personally. Joe had completely excavated our previous driveway and replaced it with an expanded new one. He was on time for the date that we had scheduled. He used the highest quality sealer, known as Liquid Gold. Joe was meticulous in the application of the sealer and made sure the job was neat and clean upon completion. The end result was a professional driveway in both function and appearance. Primo Paving Inc. has our highest recommendation."

"It was great working with Dan Connolly of Bellrock Construction.  He's a contractor who actually listens to your ideas.  He impressed us by suggesting some improvements to our plans.  We've lived in our house for 37 years and after my several failed attempts to solve the problems presented by the hill on one side of our house, Dan and his crew built a beautiful stone retaining wall, extended our front lawn, and solved our drainage problems.  The finished job is just what we had in mind, only better.  Bellrock's price was very competitive.  From beginning to end of the project, Dan and his crew showed up as promised.  We highly recommend Bellrock.     <br /> <br />"

"We hired Cristian and his team to install a large fence around our property, replace the siding on our house, and fix some smaller issues inside the house, such as replacing (and deleading) the crumbling closet walls, stripping and re-painting the radiators, replacing our hundred year old lally columns, and installing a new bulkhead. Well actually, we initially wanted to paint over the existing closet walls, but since they were crumbling, Cristian replaced the drywall without charging us any extra. Despite the material shortages due to covid, he was able to get our project done in a reasonable timeframe. By the time other contractors called me back for a quote, he was already halfway done with our project. Cristian and his team are one of the most responsive contractors I have worked with, and they kept coming back until we were happy with every detail. It rained shortly after the job was finished and we had a small leak in the kitchen ceiling. Cristian and his employee got up on the 2nd floor roof and fixed it up, along with some missing shingles on our shed roof, and didn't take any payment for it. Because every contractor is so busy these days, I would sometimes text or call him for an update on the status of the project. Cristian always kept me updated and was very honest with us about issues they encountered. We will definitely call on Cristian for our future home projects."

"We called Ranieri Construction because a combination of ground settling and a sloppy repair made our concrete pool deck not only cracked and uneven, but also unsightly. Lou Ranieri explained that they couldn’t fix the cracks as they were, but would have to remove the filler from the first repair, grind down the uneven surfaces and stain the whole surface to achieve an even color. Once the plan was in motion, Andrew Ranieri worked tirelessly to grind down and level all the surfaces – this man is a definite perfectionist and the even surface is better than we ever thought was possible. A skim coat was applied and, once hardened, the whole area was cleaned and stained. It’s beautiful! We can’t say enough about how diligent Lou and Andrew are in their, often backbreaking, work. Once completed, the work area was left spotlessly clean. This is the type of company all should strive to be – a company where work ethic, integrity and the correct way of solving a problem are paramount. Thank you, Ranieri Construction! You're the best!"

"So THIS is what it is like to have a beautiful, comfortable, maintainable backyard! In an effort to get a swing-set built for our son, we realized that our rocky, hillside, on-ledge backyard needed professional help that went beyond a mere swing-set project. We invested in a plan to completely re-do our backyard space from steep, rough, jagged hill-side, to modern outdoor living space. With all the heavy equipment and know-how to do it right, Stefanos built us a double tiered paver patio, complete with retaining walls, seating areas, lighting, a proper firepit, and a flat area with plenty of clearance for our son’s future swingset. Our project also fixed several long-standing drainage issues at the property (extending gutter downspouts underground), and routing water away from our house. Stefanos knocked the entire job out at a rapid clip (approximately 2 weeks, start to finish). The job spanned many facets, from ledge-chip-out, running excavators in very tight quarters, trenching, installation of dozens of yards of loam, and gravel, and proper regrading. It was an awesome experience to watch folks who are masters at what they do work, and my 4-year old loved watching the heavy equipment operate! Stefanos was also very diligent about cleanup of both the staging area for materials, and the entire yard. The output of the project was even better than we hoped for. Simply outstanding. Thanks Jeremy, Elder, and all of the crew at Stefano’s!"

"The contractor removed the existing brick walkway and replaced it with poured concrete walkway. The contractor took great care to ensure my lawn and driveway were not damaged or stained. The men were friendly and courteous. The mason asked multiple times while the forms were being installed if it met my expectations. The mason was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent final result. Their quotation and billing processes were also very timely, efficient and professional. Their price was within the other estimates I received."

"They came and gave us a quote for a new walkway.  We did not use BestHands because he suggested we wait until we remodel our front steps, which we are not prepared to do at this time.  I appreciated the honesty and found them to be very helpful and professional. <br />"

"I am extremely pleased with the work that Kirby Masonry did. I had an old all brick stairway (8 feet wide, 7 stairs high) replaced with brick risers and pillars/sidewalls (as original) but with blue mist granite treads. I believe the brick color was Mohawk. I originally thought of using bluestone but Jason suggested blue mist granite. He and his stone supplier, Southridge Farm in Walpole, informed me that bluestone is not as durable, supply is dwindling and is more expensive than blue granite. It was a good alternative to the regular gray granite that is used and I like the look. The mortar in the original brick stairs was disintegrating due to the use of salt for snow/ice melting and I was committed to having a stair surface that would be less permeable to chemicals. Jason and his crew did outstanding work and the results are superb. The new stairs look fantastic and are much safer now that the old brick stairs have been replaced. The new stairs looked so good that I was inspired to have the stair landing leading to the sidewalk and the upper landing leading to the front door replaced as well. The original landings were stamped concrete and were OK but detracted from the look of the new stairs. I had Jason and his crew install both landings with Belgard rectangle pavers (London Cobble Danville Blend for the landings Charcoal for the borders). The finished job added a cleaner, elegant and updated look to the house. In addition to the front stair and landing replacement I had Jason and his crew point the stone foundation of the house. It had been pointed about 15 years ago but I felt it was time to get it done again. I like the work that Jason and the crew had done and was confident that they would do a thorough job with the pointing, too. Jason had time in his schedule to fit in the pointing job so I had it done right after the stairs were replaced. I talked to several masons last fall before selecting Kirby Masonry and was running up against the cold weather for getting the job done. Quotes ranged from $4,000 to $20,000 depending on how much work was involved. Jason's quote was most favorable and he offered different options since I wasn't sure if I was going to replace the pillars/sidewalls or if I needed to replace the landings. He was flexible and provided me with several locations where he was currently doing work or had completed work so I could see what his work was like. I liked that these jobs were local and that he was transparent about his work. He could have done the work last November but we decided to have it done this past spring. Jason offered the best price and could do the job sooner than the others. It took about a week to do all the jobs. After the jobs were done I noticed there was a small gap in the upper landing between the border and the wall where more mortar was needed. I contacted Jason and he took care of it. It was a very small fix and not critical so I was not surprised when it was not taken care of right away. I believe that if I was more concerned about getting this fixed sooner Jason would have done it. Overall, I highly recommend Kirby Masonry and will definitely hire them again for any masonry job I might have. Jason is very timely and communicates mostly by texting and responds quickly. He was there every day working with his crew. They did a great job cleaning up and even replaced the soil in the areas of the lawn next to the side pillars which had been displaced/moved. I have received many compliments on the new stairs and landing from my neighbors and people who parked on the street near the house. Unlike some masons he did not place a sign on the lawn with his company name. I suggested that he might want to but he was ok not doing so. I've had some requests for his contact information which I gladly provide. Since Jason is very busy and if you like his quote I recommend that you get on his schedule as soon as possible. Some tips: Use sand on brick stairs. Salt and chemicals wreck the mortar. Who knew especially when we were trying to keep up during the megastorms of 2014-2015? If you go to Southridge Farm you might want to bring your kids as they have farm animals (including a llama) on site. They have a huge selection of pavers and stones to view. Check their website for more info."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Harvard, MA

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
