"After being on their work list for about 10 weeks, we finally got an appointment date. Workmen showed up 2 hours late, but they had an emergency repair in Laurel and I was notified by phone. Work completed in 1 day. We are happy with the work so far, it hasn't rained since gutters were installed so can't report on that right now. <br />"

"Anthony and Tyler are great guys. They work very hard and stay at it until the job is done. They installed standing seam on my house in the spring and then returned to install the shop Roof in the fall. They did an excellent job."

"The design was not common. I wanted all maintenance free materials. Jim met with me to discuss my ideas, and created the plans that met my vision exactly. We installed trex decking and a brushed aluminum pergola. The house is dark blue, the decking was a mixed gray/blue, and the pergola is white. The results are stunning! Once Jim and the team start the project, they are dedicated to that project until it's done - they don't multitask and get delayed on another project while working on yours! The guys were as clean and neat as you can be when building something. To pour the footings, they had to pull up some turf, which concerned me - but by the time they got done, the grass was right back where it was, and you couldn't even tell it had been disturbed. These guys were great - easy to work with, professional in their deportment, excellent quality of work. Rates were very reasonable for the quality of the results. Highly, Highly Recommend!"

"I can't believe how easy he was and is to work with. His flexibility in meeting our needs was crucial in us being able to build our house. Start to finish time was shorter than he projected even with weather delays. We truly felt as though we were at the top of his list. He kept us well informed of the progress and would often check in to insure that the final product would be as expected. When it was time for us to pick out flooring, cabinets, appliances, and counter-tops he did not push us towards any one brand or supplier, but did offer ideas when we asked for his advice. He is a very realistic person and will not say whatever just to get your business. He is very honest and a pleasure to do business with. We have been living in our house since December of 2013 and he continues to check in on us and address any concerns we have. This was our first experience in building a home and I really cant believe how well it went. I would recommend Hagen Construction to anyone looking to build a home. <br /> This review may sound to good to be true, I know there is another review on here that is quite the opposite of mine. In business or life there is no such thing as perfection and any relationship, whether business or personal is a 2-way street. Some people are never satisfied and always want something for nothing. I don't know the specifics of the other reviewer of Hagen Construction that gave him an and quot;Fand quot; rating, but I expected a quality product for a fair price with good customer service, and that is exactly what I got from Mike Hagen. <br />"

"I have absolutely no complaints.  Pete was pleasant to deal with and very responsive to emails and phone calls.  While visiting about the job, he told me they were about a month out, which was not bad because another company I talked to claimed to be a year out.  So, I gave Pete a check and the signed agreement.  A week and a half later, he called and said they could come out and do our roof.  His guys showed up when they said they would and worked through two blustery cold days.  The crew was friendly and a pleasure to talk to when asking questions.  They had the old roof off and the area cleaned really well the first day, a Thursday. The second day, a Friday, they had the shingles installed and only needed to finish the cap at the peak. They came back and finished it up on Saturday morning.  On each visit, they left the yard clean and in good shape.  I highly recommend Little Roofing and Construction if you have any roofing work you need done. <br />"

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Helena, MT

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
