"After the holidays our water wasn't draining like it should and over the coarse of a few days we started having back flow problems into our shower. We have always had a handyman in the family until recently. So I always had someone to call who I trusted, but this time I didn't. I have always been worried that we would be financially taken advantage of. So I started doing my research and found Neighbor Hood Plummer called and was scheduled for an appointment almost a week later. Some coworkers of mine told me to find someone else who could come sooner, but with the ratings they had, I knew I could trust them. Once he came to our house to inspect our situation he gave us the bad news. Our main drain pipe had broken off where it bends to meet the underground pipe. The pipes that were connecting the broken pipe to the underground pipe were the wrong angle. The home builder used two 45 degree pipes making an S shape which was partly buried under ground under the house. He explained to me that it needed to slope down because you could not snake the pipe the full distance from either side of the overflow. And it needed to be dug up and replaced with the appropriate pipes, then the drain pipe would be repaired. But first they would have to clean up the sewage under the house. And when he finished he would spread lime to kill the smell. He was very clear and made sure I understood exactly what the problem was and took pictures to show me. He said it would take anywhere from a half a day to a full days work. When they came back to do the job, it took him only 4 hours and that included the time at the hardware store. I was impressed at the speed, the knowledge, and the professionalism of this company. And highly recommend them to anyone. They are now my plummer on hand!"

To respect the time it takes to provide a proper estimate, Lewis & Company requires a small service charge for a formal estimate. To me, it was well-worth the charge as it showed me they were committed to providing me with an accurate estimate and it gave me an idea of how thorough James and his crew would be in completion of the job. James also did a detailed walk-through of the work I was interested in completing and gave me useful, honest, and practical advice regarding my budget constraints. James and Lewis completed about $15K of home repairs/upgrades in preparation for putting my parent's home on the market. All my interactions with both James and his employees were great and I felt comfortable with them in my home. There was always good communication with me regarding when they would be coming. There was about a 3 week wait for the initial meeting, 1 month for the detailed estimate, and about 2 months for the work to start- but this was told to me upfront (and I was willing to wait for this company) and I was always kept in the loop if there was going to be a delay. "<p>While replacing an upstairs sink faucet, the plumber noticed a dampness and slight mist coming from the area where the water pipe entered the wall.   I called Jeff at Sherwood Home Improvement to work with the plumber and repair the pipe that had a pinhole leak.  The repair entailed removing a portion of the sheetrock wall in the downstairs dining room to get at the problem.   Jeff was not only responsive, but coordinated with the plumber and tenant and had the problem fixed in no time.  He also worked with the plumber to consolidate the bill for all work, making it much easier for me to manage this property.</p>"
