"Great quality work, done timely and finished completely. When Sam came to give us a quote, not only did he help design our patio he gave us recommendations for better drainage that we didnâ  t even think of. This contractor took the time to make sure the project was planned and done correctly. They are available every step of the way for any concerns, great company!"

"Teki and his crew of workers did an excellent job installing my patio. My yard looks awesome and we can't wait to start entertaining again. The price we were quoted was very reasonable, the crew was very professional and clean. When they left there wasn't any debris or dried up concrete anywhere. We have other work that we would use ALB Construction again !!!"

"We had our backyard deck built by Pro Build USA , and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The crew was professional, respectful of our property, and incredibly skilled. They showed up on time every day and kept us updated throughout the project. The finished deck is exactly what we envisioned — sturdy, well-designed, and beautiful. The attention to detail really shows, from the smooth finishes to the perfectly installed railings. It’s now our favorite spot to relax and entertain guests."

"Not good. I called to make an appointment for a Saturday estimate. The individual I spoke with asked if I wanted their first appointment on Saturday morning at 8 am to which I said yes. We rearranged our plans to be home for this appointment and I had set my alarm for 7:40 am. As I am walking downstairs at 7:45 am for what is supposed to be an 8 am appointment on a Saturday morning, I see the estimator from Greg Tanzer pulling out of the driveway. I walk outside and my neighbor tells me that this guy just decided to show up early (before 7:30 am), waited around for 15 mins and then left at 7:45 (15 minutes before the appointment is supposed to start). He did all of this without even calling my cell phone (which I gave them when I made the appointment). Who has the nerve to show up at a prospective customers house 30 minutes before a schedule appointment and not even wait around until the scheduled appointment is supposed to start. This is not only unprofessional but evidences a sincere lack of respect for your customers. I would strongly suggest that you think twice before using this company.

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Highland Lakes, NJ

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
