"This was a big and complicated job. We talked to several contractors and got a lot of ideas and estimates. Several of the contractors said they couldn't do the job and the other ones wanted twice the money. Fury concrete systems (FCS) was confident they could do the job and they were within what we expected to pay. <br /> This was a hard working crew. They were here every day until the job was completed. They did every thing that we wanted and made it work. We love everything about it. They did a great job. It looks beautiful and the final test was when they were all through and I was washing everything down, The water all drained off exactly as it should. <br />"

"It went very well. Everything was done before our guests arrived, and the work done was impeccable. The price was exceptionally reasonable, especially since it required three trips our to our home. After he was done, it was virtually impossible to tell that there had been a hole there. Excellent work for a very reasonable price, we could not be more pleased. <br />"

"Explaned above, but was right on budget after meeting with him and deciding what I could/could not afford to have him do.  Great work, gives accurate bids and works within bid pricing.  Always asks about upgrading or over pricing due to increase in product or work change prior to just doing the work.  Always know where you stand financially with this company."

"These guys are the BEST! I talk about them all the time and spread the word about how well these guys do....I am more proud now to show off the basement area of our home than I was before the flood. They went above and beyond their duties and even fixed a few extra things throughout to say me the hassle later. When I was a wreck over the damages in my home...the guys ensured me everything would be alright and all would be well...they were right. I am so happy I made the choise to call them...They are A-1. I hope to never have damages like that again to my home but if I do....I KNOW who to call without a shadow of a doubt with confidence that everything will be alright....Because of these guys! Thanks Again. ~TValdivia"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Hill-city, ID

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
