"Eric Smith provided excellent service. The repairs were hampered by rain but his communication was excellent and the repairs performed over a two day period to our satisfaction. We highly recommend them and definitely plan to use them again in the future."

"A Dream Oasis Blooms in Retirement: A Glowing Review of A Cut Above Outdoor Specialty Services and Crown Enterprise of Jax. After 30 years exploring the world through our service in the USMC, my wife and I craved a haven to share with loved ones. We envisioned an oasis and “A Cut Above” brought our retirement dreams to life. Turning our vision into reality wasn't easy. It required a skilled orchestra of professionals, and Sean White and Tanner flawlessly harmonized with our electrician Derek and plumber Chris from Crown Enterprise of Jax. Together, they orchestrated a symphony of functionality and beauty, even amidst the holiday crunch. While today's costs sting, the warranty, quality, dedication, and personal touch Sean and Tanner provide are priceless. Remember, folks: quality materials, skilled labor, and peace of mind come at a cost, but they're worth every penny. Here's what we learned on our journey to paradise: 1. Specialists shine brightest: Don't chase the unicorn of a "one-stop shop." Trust the experts like Sean and Tanner for pavers, and find your own Derek and Chris for plumbing and electrical. 2. Wider Drains, Bigger Gains: Don't skimp on those drains! Wider is better, and remember, the magic truly happens underground with that 6" PVC pipe – crucial for keeping your oasis dry. 3. Futureproof with Tracers: Think ahead! Run those electrical and plumbing tracers for any future renovations. Thank your past self later! 4. Expert Ears are Golden Ears: Listen to your professionals! They've seen it all, and their guidance is your gold. 5. Bold Choices, Beautiful Outcomes: Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Embrace bold decisions, and watch your dream take shape. In conclusion, we're beyond thrilled! They're "A Cut Above," as the saying goes, and we're overflowing with gratitude. Our oasis blooms, and it's all thanks to their expertise and dedication. Cheers and Bravo Zulu to all the Crew that "played in the dirt", and of course to building your very own beautiful haven!"

"Melanie proved to be the most responsive contractor with whom I have worked in years. Could not get most of her competition to answer the phone or call me back. Crew did a quality job. Price was fair."

"We won’t be losing Brandon’s number. We have had the worst time since we moved here three years ago finding an electrician. We reached out to Brandon one day, he arrived promptly at 9 a.m. the following day, quoted the job after discussing with my husband, and finished the job on the first trip. He was professional, courteous, and efficient. He even changed a couple of high ceiling light bulbs for us. And his price was reasonable!! As soon as he left, my husband came in and said, “Don’t you lose their phone number. They did a great job!!” Definitely recommend this company, as we will most definitely be using them again! Thank you, Brandon, for ending our search!"

"Overall the fence is OK. I suppose I got what I paid for---cheap.  They used quality materials and the fence seems pretty solid, but the installers were sloppy and lacked attention to details that could have made this a great fence.  I had two gates installed. Neither one was even with the fence panels at the top and I had to ask them to realign it. One was corrected at the time of installation because I had a friend come inspect their work before they left. The installer claimed that the fence and the gate had to be uneven because of the slope of the driveway. My friend told them how to fix it by removing the fence panel and trimming the bottom. The installer removed the panel by banging the 2X4's until they separated from the posts. This resulted in a split 2X4 and a wobbly fence post. When he cut the bottom of the panel, he didn't measure first so each individual picket is a little uneven. I had to ask them to come back out to lower the panel next to the second gate. I asked him to use a pry bar to separate the 2X4 so that it didn't split. After he left I noticed he didn't replace the picket on the front of the panel and he had also used only one nail in each 2X4 to secure the fence to the post. In addition the post was spaced too far over so that the 2X4 only overlapped the post by about an inch. There are other details that were overlooked. Neither end of the fence matches the height of my neighbors fence that it adjoins. There is no difference in the ground slope that would require this and even if there was, they could have trimmed the pickets. The fence panels are preassembled when they arrive to do the installation, rather than being stick built onsite. I think this deters the installation crew from removing pickets or otherwise altering the panels to fit the site because the ringshank nails that they use are difficult to remove. They had to work around some roots that where protrouding above the soil line. Rather than remove the boards and trim them, they trimmed them in place and the cuts are very sloppy and crooked. There were more examples of sloppy work including large gaps between the gate and the posts, leaving the old post holes unfilled and not completely filling the new ones.
I also had several issues with communication and punctuality. The first was when the owner  was supposed to come out for the initial estimate. He never showed and the next day I received a call indicating that he had car trouble and didn't have my number. The next person that was to come out for an estimate called and asked if he could come two hours earlier than the appointment. I said sure, I wasn't at home, but would come home early to meet him. He ended up being an hour late for the original appointment. When he did call he said he got caught up at the office. I received a call on the day of installation that the crew was coming out. Four hours later, no one was there. I called the office and was told they had to stop at Home Depot first. The day the installers were to come out to fix their mistakes, I called the office because because they were over 2 hours late. I was told they weren't coming afterall. They were an hour late the next day.
A few days before the installation, I saw on the the news about the negative review that a non-member left on Angie's List about Heritage Fencing. I discounted it as an anomily. I am having a new paver patio installed, but I didn't bother calling Heritage for the job."
