"The person doing the work was very professional and thorough. We have had the ducts cleaned in the past, but they did not do nearly as thorough a job as this person did. He cleaned the return line at the furnace, the fan motor and A-coil."

"<p>Great service start to finish.  They called me back when they said they would, sent a service man ASAP first thing the next day, he arrived 2 minutes early, and was the consummate professional.  We looked at the furnace together and he explained what he was seeing and thinking as we went.  He offered options as they emerged and shared his past experiences with similar situations and opinion when I asked.  I trusted the man I worked with and felt like I had all the information I needed to make a decision on how to go forward. In the end I choose to rehabilitated a 40 year old furnace that I frankly guessed was on it's last legs. I never felt pressured to spend more then necessary.  In fact, he seemed to take pride in doing the job well and at the least expense to me. </p> <p>As far as the cost goes it seemed fair to me.  The fan motor was the initial problem and it was replaced with new.  With my approval he up-dated several other aging components, the high dollar filter was changed, and he cleaned the unit thoroughly.  It had been 5+ years since it was serviced and it is now in top condition.  </p> <p>We all are looking for a business we can trust and I believe I have found one here.  I won't bother looking further in the future.  This is a good, local, family business with a long history in the area.  They take pride in their work and name, and that's as good as it gets.</p> <br />"

"This company is excellent! I highly recommend them to anyone I know. This was my first time using this company and I'm so glad I did! The crew was very courteous and professional. The carpet looks great! I did experience what another reviewer referred to as brown out. The guys I spoke with said it's basically oxidation and it happens sometimes when the carpet dries too slowly, so be sure to put your AC/heat to the recommended temp and extra fans if you've got them. When they came to take care of the brown out I was very pleased to know that they fix that for free. It's a very quick fix, they just re-clean the affected area. But if you've got a die stain that's an entirely different type of spot and would need specialized treatment so it's not part of the normal cleaning cost. My final price would have been higher if I had chosen to have the rooms treated with scotchguard but we decided to pass on it this time, there was no pressure from them to upgrade it which I appreciated. The crew guys we're very nice on the second time too. Don't hesitate to use this company. They are professional, they are priced very well and they work hard to clean your carpets as best as they can."

"Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories, Inc. sent a package with 2 vials and instructions for collecting the samples.  I collected the samples as instructed, completed a questionnaire, and returned the sample vials as instructed.  A week or two later they sent the analysis.  Everything went as expected.  There were no problems. <br />"

"<p>21 year old home and we are replacing the Furnace and Central Air units so decided to have ducts done. The fresh air ducts were very dirty and the heat ducts just basic dirty very glad we had it done. Americlean had a great price compared to others $275.00 for the first ten and $10 per duct over the first ten and if you go to their web site you can get a $30 discount</p> <p>The equipment they used, their vacuum truck and so on very modern powerful up to date equipment and the two guys doing the work were polite clean and did a good job.</p> <p>Only a couple small negative's they didn't re open three of the vents and we had to move up the arrival time because they were busy or it took them longer then thought on job before us, but they did call just a minor problem.</p> . <br />"

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Hills, IA

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
