"The Chimney Solutions rep was on time, friendly, and professional. He took precautions to keep the area clean and worked efficiently. He also examined the chimney structure on the top of the house and in the attic for any deficiencies. He did point out updates that should done to the chimney to improve function and safety--especially since the chimney was house was built prior to current code. Chimney Solutions are definitely my go-to in the future."

"I hired this company to repair a brick mailbox that had been hit by a large truck and separated at the center. I assumed I would need a whole new mailbox, but they were able to repair the existing mailbox at a fraction of the cost and in such a way that it looked as good as new. Their communication throughout the process was excellent. They arrived on time for both scheduled appointments, and did their work efficiently and professionally. I would highly recommend."

"David and his crew were extremely efficient, effective, and productive. We were faced with the complete demolition of a 35-40’ long 10’ high railroad tie retaining wall which had deteriorated. DMC removed the entire wall and the shale and soil which had sunk and caused the concrete parking pad to crack and sink within a few days. He constructed a new wall of Normandy blocks backed with stones and gravel, a new drainage system, and finished with permeable pavers which effectively addresses the large amount of rain water we get in the east Tennessee mountains. David always followed up with action on whatever he said he’d do. We would highly recommend DMC Outdoor Living for any large or small hardscaping project."

"I had a serious issue with the brick on my home and I could not get anyone to return my calls. Wielman reached out to my request immediately, was out the following week to give me an estimate and showed up a week later to complete the work. He was thorough in his explanations about the problem and how to fix it. His crew was great and they did a great job cleaning up. He even managed to find a few of my discontinued brick. The final product looks great. You cannot tell that brick was removed and replaced. Iâ m very happy with the job and highly recommend him."

"EXCELLENT !! we were new owners to this house. We had TWO previous chimney sweep companies out to inspect the 2 flue chimney.  The main floor shorter flue operates the main floor fireplace. The taller 2nd flue begins in the basement, it was behind existing drywall. The 1st company  was hired upon moving in to have the chimney inspected and cleaned for safe use. They said it was fine to use, cleaned it and said they sealed the exterior. However smoke entered our home on the basement level through the ceiling lights. we hired a 2nd company to try to correct this problem. We had to call them twice as the receptionist told me on the 2nd call  that the sweep said it seemed impossible this was happening. They did came out, in the dark at 6pm and they said they sealed the 2nd taller flue to prevent smoke from traveling form the top of the 1st flue into the taller stack of the 2nd flue and traveling down into our basement. We asked him as he was folding sheet metal over the top of the 2nd taller flue if he wanted to come back in the daylight. He said he was fine. He did not seal the top of the 2nd flue, it was obvious when looking at it  the next day in daylight. it ws hand crumpled , crooked over the top of the 2nd flue. I did not call them back to complain because they were so rude, it warns worth it. We removed his sorry work and resealed the 2nd flue completely and still the smoke was coming into the basement through the ceiling lights. We called CHARITY CHIMNEY SWEEPS and from the first phone conversation they were professional and polite. Steve inspected our chimney, showed us the obvious cracks between the 2 flues and educated us on manly points of chimney maintanance and function. We scheduled an appt to put an insert in our 1st chimney. They did a PERFECT warrantied job. CORRECT, NEAT and POLITE!! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE PROFESSIONALS! I am sorry I do not have the paper work with me to explain the type of insert used. we are now enjoying a safe system.

"Our chimney had several broken & missing bricks. My husband & I were initially concerned about the amount of damage & scope of the repair needed. Joe was confident he could fix it up. Now, our chimney looks great & we feel good about the repairs."

FAQs for brick or stone tuck pointing projects in Hixson, TN

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. This clear pricing model assures that professionals inspect your property before beginning work and charge based on your project’s actual requirements.

A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
