"I chose Lake Michigan Construction for a full tear off and replacement of my residential roof. I’m very happy with decision to hire them as the contractor. LMC is a Holland based, family owned, business run by Kari and Al Noyola. Both of them are actively involved in the process from quote through installation. When doing advance research, I found that their online reviews and Better Business Bureau ratings are excellent. During the initial phase Kari and Al provided a detailed quote for scope of work including labor and a completely specified materials list. They took all the time I needed to understand the various roofing materials and products and how they integrate to provide a long lasting water proof roofing system. For material estimating measurements they use a software package called “EagleView” which was very accurate when I compared it to my original blueprint dimensions. It gave me confidence to know that the amount of material specified was accurately computed and would be on the job site when needed. Their quote and statement of work was clear, detailed, and transparent. The time they spent with me during the quoting phase left me confident they would be a reliable contractor and use quality materials for my project. The installation crew arrived on time every day and worked consistently all day to complete their tasks. My project used GAF roofing products and all the workmanship and installation techniques used by the crew were diligently performed to look visually appealing and to meet the installation specifications necessary to assure the manufacturer’s extended warranty was valid. My home’s siding, windows, and foundation plantings were carefully covered to prevent any damage. At the end of each day the crew removed all tear off debris and materials before leaving the site. Each night any unfinished roof work was covered and sealed to protect the house in the event of unexpected rain. The owner, Al Noyola, was actively on site several times throughout each work day to assure everything was running well and the crew had everything they needed. At the end of the project the crew left everything neat, clean, and looking great. My home also needed some flashing repair/replacement and that work was done in a neat attractive manner adding to the visual appeal of the finished project. The roofing industry has a reputation of unreliable contractors so I was extremely concerned when looking for a reliable supplier. I’m really happy I found and selected LMC for my project and very satisfied with the entire process of working with LMC. There were no unpleasant surprises throughout the project and they provided me with a beautiful new roof. I strongly recommend you talk with them about your roofing project."

I wanted to wait until a snow melt had happened before I left a review because that would be the true test as to the success of their work. From the very first voicemail we received from Dennis all the way to the end of the project we were very pleased. There has been No leaks. The roof is beautiful. Any problems that we had were quickly resolved, and with our home being an older, the team had a few challenges. They were also very respectful about the landscaping, and I didn’t lose one perennial. And they cleaned up everything to complete satisfaction. The only regret I have is not doing more for the team (ex. cookies, cold drinks). "A few years ago we had Smart Roofing put on a new roof and was very impressed with the quality and professionalism done. Richard was great to do business with so we contacted him again when we wanted siding done. Again, we were impressed with the quality of the product, installation and communication. Every step Richard communicated in a promptly manner. The team he assembled were very professional and mindful of our vegetation in our yard and when the job was completed they did a thorough job of picking up the siding debris. The team communicated through out the entire process and their timeframe of completion. I was very glad they inquire if we wanted our old light fixtures/outlet covers to go back or if we had new ones which I went out an bought new ones immediately. "We contacted Weatherhead and Son's to get some window's replaced. They told us up front that it would be about 3 months due to all the work they had. This would have put the time frame around late September. In the meantime they demanded the down payment right away and it was paid to them. September came and went and they had not contacted me. I placed several calls and they told me I would have to talk to Jake. After several calls Jake never called. October came and went as I tried contacting them again. It was the same story with the same result. Only when I demanded my down payment back that I got a call. He told me that the new time frame would be within the first two weeks of November. Well...Same story, same results. They are not calling me back and I fear that we are going into winter where the job cannot be done. I am to the point of calling the BBB as well as Kent County if I cannot get my down payment back. This is fraud if they insist on keeping my money for services never rendered. I am so through with them."

"THEY DON'T HONOR THEIR WARRANTY I had 3 years left on the warranty for my shingles when the roof started leaking. I went on to the roof to check for any damage to the roof (like a branch falling on it or something).There was no physical damage to the shingles. I called WMR 3 times over a two and a half week period. Each time I was told by the receptionist that "tyler" would be coming out to take a look at it. "tyler" never showed. I got tired of playing the phone game (call them and notify them that your roof is leaking - no call back) and gave up. I will have to fix it myself. THEY DON'T HONOR THEIR WARRANTY"
