Customers say: Quality work

"Great/now walk around our home and pool--flat pavement and no broken steps. Before and after photos are available. Team cleaned up when done-so you would not know work had been performed! Neighbors said the walkway was great and accompanying small garden wall preserved the original natural look of our backyard"

"Pavers Plus (Tonya & Reid) did an absolute fantastic job on our backyard paver patio. It is a rare find to work with a company that is professional, prompt, communicates regularly, and does outstanding work. This company checks ALL those boxes. They are a pleasure to work with and take pride in their skill and reputation for high quality very seriously. They had to work with our neighborhood HOA for approval, stay within guidelines provided and they did this seamlessly. Our patio is absolutely gorgeous! Sitting right beside the golf course, everyone seeing our patio has complimented their work. People seeing our patio want Pavers Plus contact info for themselves or friends. The beauty of our patio has generated so much attention in the neighborhood we even have friends/neighbors posting selfie’s on it in fun! We love it. What a wonderful experience working with this small company. It’s like working with a trusted friend. Our family will only use them for any future outdoor projects. A rare gem indeed in our community."

"Everyone we dealt with at O'Steen Bros, from Ron O'Steen to the concrete people and pavers, was a top-notch professional. They showed up when they said they would, finished on time, went the extra mile and cleaned up the site afterward. Our circular driveway is at the bottom of a hill and had to to be built so that water will not flow from the cul-de-sac down the driveway. They also had to reshape the concrete pad to keep water from pooling in the corner against a retention wall and instead angle it so water will flow into a buried drainage pipe. It now works beautifully and looks beautiful too. Ron was on-site often every step of the way to make sure the work was done according to his and our specifications and we appreciated that very much. <br />"

"Gary is very detail oriented and I was able to communicate with him through the entire process with ease. Our home went from a 1968 time capsule with Avocado Green Appliances & Shag Carpets to a Beautiful Modern Home. We were able to customize all aspects of our home to suit our needs. After getting quotes and after some contractors failed to even quote the project Gary was a blessing. He delivered everything he promised and worked with us from beginning to end to make sure we were happy with the final product. Gary made our house Our Home."

"My old steps were really bad.  Looked bad, steep, narrow tread, wobbly handrail.  A difficult installation, many factors had to be considered that I never thought about.  Involved some exterior plastering eventually.  Stairs are really beautiful now.  The rock facing Irv used is beautiful.  These stairs are such an improvement, words don't express it.  Irv is a great guy, easy going, knowledgable.  Very fair price and a great result.  This is not a simple project by any means.  Very satisfied. <br />"

"Excellent painters with whom I would do business with again. We experienced quality workmanship with an attention to detail. I saw these folks doing work at a condominium up the street and noticed the outstanding preparation they were doing on that job before they painted. Based on what I saw going on at that job site that lasted several weeks I knew they would do a fine job for me. Allen and Preston were true professionals and the leads on an exterior paint project on our home built in the 1920's. Job well done!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Hollister, FL

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
