MJM Plastring was the only one that indicated that I had a "sand finish scroll pattern" on my ceiling and replied that he had done repairs on these patterns before. He even sent a picture of a recent repair , not of a sand finish scroll, but of another pattern. I hired MJM for the job. Mike came and was the owner, indicate that the rest of his crew was at another job. Mike was professional in every respect. Put down plastic and cleaned up afterwords. You don't need a permit to replace drywall if you're just swapping out old panels without making any structural changes. If you're keeping the wall positions the same and not moving any electrical or plumbing, you can go ahead without a permit. However, if your project involves adding or removing walls or altering the home's infrastructure, you'll likely need to get a permit, which can add $50 to $150 to your costs.
