"Anders was an awesome find. Helped me work through a tedious kitchen remodel, from demo to floor, levelling, framing, and window installation. Always showed up and was thorough and self-directed."

"Jason is my "go to" person to call when I need any type of carpentry or handyman services for my business or home. Jason redesigned and remodeled the interior of my business. He created an atmosphere that not only created a more efficient work flow, but also increased the overall value of my business. He provides quality work in a timely fashion at a reasonable price. I will always use Jason for any future services/jobs and recommend him to family, friends, and customers."

"<strong>Gleaming The View:</strong> <br /> Contacted them through the e-mail provided on their web site. I was able to send them a picture showing the exact work I wanted done. Received an e-mail reply (from a real person) very quickly and I was able to arrange an estimation appointment. <br /> The estimator came out and spent time to go over the exterior work I wanted done with the house. He provided advice, answered questions, and didn't try to pressure me into extra work or have to agree right then. He wrote out a detailed estimate with each portion broken out. I decided to go with moss removal and treatment of the North facing roof, moss removal of the driveway/sidewalk (really needed it), pressure washing of the vinyl siding on the North, West, and South facing walls, and cleaning of the gutters. <br /> All through the processes they followed up by e-mail to let me know when the work was being done. I didn't have to do a thing. I just came home to find my roof, driveway, sidewalk and vinyl siding clean. The house looks brand new again. I highly recommend them for cleaning up the exterior of your home. My HOA will be happy, or at least they won't send me hate mail this year about the moss at any rate. <br /> <strong>A note about contractors and technology:</strong> <br /> I have been dealing with many contractors lately for multiple house projects, so I'm getting a good feel as to what counts for professionalism. It's 2015 and you would expect contractors to take advantage of all forms of communication including the Angie's list schedule feature, their own web site contact forms, e-mail, and the phone. Sadly, too many contractors can't or won't respond to estimate requests unless you aggressively follow up by phone. Failure to follow up with your potential customers is a big red flag. It's sign of how they will behave once they have your contract. If they don't respond on the first try, I don't give them a second chance. <br /> Gleaming the View gets an A+ from me on their use of technology and customer service. I wish other contractors would follow their example. <br />"

"Don came out to inspect our travel trailer. He did a through inspection and brought a couple items to our attention that needed work. We then hired the company to re-caulk a trailer and later winterized a different trailer for us. Through conversations, both in person and on the phone, we learned a great day about rv maintenance and service. And today I learned a great deal from watching Don winterize our rig. The staff at AYS is really knowledgeable and super helpful. I always leave each phone conversation and in-person conversation feeling satisfied. I totally recommend this company and their services. Good work and good genuine people. We feel good knowing there's a company we can trust and count on when we need them. Thanks Don! <br />"

FAQs for handyman service projects in Hood River, OR

Winterizing shields your home’s structure and key systems from snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. By sealing drafts and tuning up heaters, you cut energy waste, extend the life of appliances and windows, and avoid surprise repair bills. A small up-front investment keeps rooms cozy and protects the value of your biggest asset all winter long.

Yes, it’s important to prepare your sprinkler system for the winter. Blowing out the lines and insulating above-ground parts keeps valves and pipes from splitting when temperatures drop. A quick winterization visit costs far less than repairing burst components in spring, and it ensures your lawn--and your wallet--stay in good shape once the thaw hits.

A full home winterization plan goes beyond sealing windows and pipes. You might schedule a home energy audit, cover outdoor furniture, service the snowblower, swap smoke-detector batteries, add outlet gaskets, and hang storm doors. Each step beefs up your home’s protection, cuts drafts, and lowers the chance of costly cold-weather damage.
