"<p>First, I contacted another company and was unable to get in contact with them again after getting a quote. I called Scott Henning, owner of Techne Concrete, he answered all my questions and gave me a quote right away which was better than the original person I contacted. He was up front about other costs that could occur due to unforeseen work as well as preparation of the site and ect. I was also having some carpentry work done in the same area and he was accommodating to work around the other professionals. Actually, in my area, we received a significant amount of rain prior to my project beginning and had to push the schedule back a week and Scott was proactive and flexible in rescheduling . </p> <p><br /></p> <p>Work began on time and every thing went as planned. When small problems arose, Scott was very quick to find a solution and keep the ball rolling. He answered all my questions along the way and was easy to get in contact with and available on site while all work was being done. I asked him to do a few extra things ( score the concrete and take the fence down) which he did.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>I have had compliments on my new patio and have since passed Scott's info along to other people. </p> <br />"

"This was an existing house that had windows that leaked from the Day after the owner took ownership of the house. The house was built by Kelso Company of Hot Springs. There was a lawsuit against Kelso Construction, and a settlement was reached. The windows were changed by another contractor CCS Construction, and it still continued to leak, because of incorrect installation of windows and not using proper sealing material. The owner decided to install an EIFS system. Aurel V. Construction did a superb and thorough job of removing siding, sealing the windows, and installing the EIFS System. He worked directly with the technical experts of the Total Wall System and also with a building inspector. We have had several storms and the windows have not leaked even once during construction. The Company - Total Wall has confidence with Aurel V. Construction, that they are giving me a 10 year warranty."

"Very smooth process, they kept everything cleaned as they went along. They also were able to get the insurance company to pay for the repair of my fence that was damaged from the storm also. I have the best looking roof on my street!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Hot-Springs-National-Park, AR

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
