"I phoned J & J on 3/24/15 and we discussed my situation. He asked if I'd like the same day afternoon appointment or a morning appointment the following day. I chose the following day. On 3/25/15 he arrived promptly at 8 am and assessed the sink by diagnosing where the leak was, removing the parts associated with said leak and realized there was a seal missing when it was originally installed. The whole apparatus was corroded as well from years of water running through it. He was able to clean off all corrosion to see that I did not need to purchase a whole new attachment, all I needed was a seal. He left to the store to grab a seal, came back and it was all installed and fixed by 9 am. My sink looks better than new and works great. He was friendly, courteous, prompt, knowledgable and worked quickly. I have saved J & J Plumbing as my favorites on Angies List as we will use them again! <br />"

"We put in a service request through our home warranty company and Springdale Plumbing contacted us to following morning. Jim arrived a couple of hours later, diagnosed our leak under the kitchen sink, quickly replaced a faulty hose, gave me details and answered a few questions, and was gone within 20 minutes. He was great; professional, no-nonsense and courteous. He also installed a new water heater for us in January 2022. We appreciate Jim and Springdale Plumbing, and we highly recommend them."

"Have used Paschal for 5 years now for all my heating, A/C, and generator service and am very satisfied with their service, punctuality, and professionalism. My only complaint is that I see the top techs they have because I have a large generator, and then they get promoted to supervisor positions and no longer make tech house strive calls! Seriously, they are the best I have found in NWA, and always do whatever they commit to."

"Woke up to a flooded kitchen because the water valve under my sink busted. Called them at 7am and I assume an answering service took a message. Received a call back by 8am, and they were able to make it out that day by 2pm. Called me when they were on their way, showed up on time and quickly fixed the issue. Great service and good prices."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Huntsville, AR

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
