"They were right on time showing up for the estimate and very professional. They next day they even came out to run levels and check the slope of the area to ensure that there would be proper drainage for the change in elevation. <br /> They provided a detailed quote and plan for the work. I'm quite certain that the job would have been beautiful and structurally sound, but it was simply out of my budget for this project. <br /> I wouldn't completely rule them out as a contractor in the future should I have need of this type of work again. <br />"

"My home, as you can see from this partial list of the projects I am undertaking, needs a lot of TLC. Working with George was a great experience. His estimates were reasonable and reliable; he and his crew were punctual and easy to have around. But its the quality of the workmanship and the attention to detail that really makes this contractor stand out from the crowd. Although I am not an expert; I have high standards, and George got things right the first time. At one point, we had to leave him entirely in charge of the house as one of my work assignments led to the departure of the entire family for a whole month right in the middle of the proceedings, but I felt entirely comfortable leaving things in his care. He went above and beyond the call of duty more than once, and is very generous with his advice, which is invaluable when you have a "fixer upper" to contend with."

"The walkway is exactly what I wanted! The owner took the time to explain the options and make suggestions. He was honest about price versus quality. It was nice to be heard. I felt like the goal was putting me (the customer) and my needs first. He worked hard; making the best use of time but was always willing to stop and answer my questions. The attention to detail was impressive and he cleaned up every night before he left, which was refreshing. I would absolutely recommend this company for all of your landscape needs."

"the estimate was detailed and complete and delivered as promised within a week. The projects started several days late due to extensive rains but I was given daily updates. The workers were courteous and professional and the work quality good. the work site was cleaned up daily. Project cost was modestly over the estimate due to unforeseen circumstances but still very reasonable. We are pleased with the results and will call on them again for future landscaping needs. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Ithaca, NY

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
