"I had a new Kenmore dishwasher which I purchased online with Sears, sitting in my kitchen for 3 weeks pending Sears sending out an installer. After 3 weeks, I get an email saying they were unable to find anyone for my area, so I was left looking for an installer myself. I ended up choosing Shane who came the next day with his helper. The job was done efficiently and old dishwasher was hauled off without any mess or problem. I asked Shane what other work he was able to do and found out he could work on garage doors so I told him about the problem with mine and they ended up doing the needed replacement immediately. I had a very good experience with 'Shane and would not hesitate to call on him again."

"Ari and his team replaced the entire old siding on my house with fiber cement siding, painted it, power washed and cleaned the gutters, replace exterior flood lights and also replaced my fence and back gate. Although this was a lot of work their price was very reasonable and very competitive. They arrived on time every day, worked diligently and completed the job on time. The quality of the work is excellent. They were also very respectful of our time and property and never left a mess, I was very pleased I did not have to micro manage them. I will 100% recommend them and will also use them again for any of my house repair/improvement needs."

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Jacksonville, FL

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
