"I contracted with Buena Vista Roofing (BVR) for a complete tear-off and re-roof of my parents house in Vancouver, WA. BVR came highly recommended by one of their neighbors, so I took his recommendation and called. From that initial phone call to the completion of the job, working with BVR was a great experience. The estimator performed a complete set of measurements and provided a quote that was fair. There was even a discount for being a senior citizen and a military veteran! The BVR crew of 3 workers showed up on time each day and went about their work. Once the old roofing was removed, the lead man could see areas where there was damaged/rotted roof decking (plywood) that needed replacement. The highly skilled crew cut out the bad sections and â puzzledâ in the new plywood pieces perfectly. BTW - the additional charge for the repairs that they made was very reasonable. After 3 ½ days and a lot of hard work, the transformation was complete and the new roof looks fantastic. I went atop the roof with the BVR inspector, and took lots of pictures. The workmanship is absolutely top notch. If you need a new roof, BVR should be your 1st call."

"in the beginning the information and plan to repair the roof was honest and not just a patch job which I appreciated even though it was the more expensive option. During the project communication was poor. I didn't know when they were coming and the workers never texted or checked in with me to update me. I would text them and not hear back. There was an issue reinstalling the gutter guards and again no communication with the plan or when they were going to finish the job. I just got the invoice. Work appears to be done. The actual workers were clean and did the job. I just want more communication about the project then I got."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. "After reading rave reviews on Google, we called JS Roofing at 6pm and had a proposal from Ivan by early afternoon the next day. His proposal was not the least expensive nor the most expensive, but--out of the five companies from which we received bids--his presentation was the best!  Visually informative! Using an i-Pad and an app, Ivan took a picture of our house; then, he replaced the image of our existing roof with an image of new GAF roofing shingles in the color of our choice.  His app saved us from making a huge mistake!  Our first and second color choices clashed with the speckled color of our brick fascia, but the color we finally chose looks fantastic.
The job took four and a half days with the crew on-site for about 10 hours each day (except the last).  The tear-off phase was lengthy because our large roof had heavy concrete tile, and we asked for all new plywood to replace existing OSB.  The crew was incredibly pleasant--even when the temperature hit 103 degrees. They smiled and waved at us whenever we came outside.
Whenever we had a question or concern, Ivan addressed it immediately and to our satisfaction.  He truly values customer feedback and seems determined to earn rave reviews by satisfying customer expectations.  We are thankful that we called JS Roofing, and we are very pleased with our new roof.  Also, because Ivan's company is GAF-certified, we received a 50 year non-prorated, transferable warranty from GAF.
