"Everything proceeded just like clockwork. VIP Alabama Roofing arranged everything. Ms. DeFrance worked well with our insurance company. After the work was approved a date was set. The VIP crew showed up at 6AM, unloaded their equipment, started work by 7AM, and had the old roof off in about 2 hours! They took lunch 11AM until Noon, and went back up on the roof. When they came down at 3:30PM our roof was completed, and my yards were spotlessly clean! I cannot say enough good things about this group. They are fantastic! We highly recommend them!"

"Blair Remodeling replaced 26 of my old wooden double hung windows with Wincore vinyl windows. I first met with Craig Blair on April. He gave me a quote that same day. He was very patient and was definitely not in a hurry to leave, even though it was late in the day. He answered all of my questions. After I thought about it for a while he came back another afternoon to answer more questions and show the demo window unit to my wife. Again, very patient and in no hurry to be anywhere. Made down payment in April. He said they would install in early June. That is exactly what happened. The install took only three days. They started on a Wednesday and finished on a Friday. The install crew consisted of three guys. They were extremely polite and cleaned up their mess each day. There was only one major issue. There were streaks and smudges on every window. It looked like some kind of sealant that was not cleaned off during the manufacturing process. I met with the lead installer on Friday morning and pointed this out to him and asked that he clean the windows. He was very condescending and obviously did not want to clean the windows. He said he would but I knew he would not. I went back to work (my wife was home but said she would not enforce the window cleaning) The project was finished when I got home Friday afternoon. The windows looked great but . . . You guessed it. There were still streaks and smudges on all the windows. Not wanting to be a pain, I tried cleaning the windows myself. The sealant was very difficult to remove. It would not come off with glass cleaner alone. I decided this should definitely be Blair’s responsibility. I asked for a meeting with Criag Blair. We met the following week. He was very polite and patient. He agreed to have the windows cleaned and address a few other minor issues. It took a while, and to be fair, I was out of town for a week but we finally coordinated on having the windows cleaned. The crew that did the installation came back out. They came while I was at work. My wife was home but declined to be the inspector. They finished cleaning about 3 PM. They waited for me to get home at 4:30. We walked around and inspected all 26 windows. There were a few touch ups but for the most part they did a good job. In summary, I was very pleased and satisfied with the entire process. I will definitely use Blair Remodeling in for any future projects. Craig Blair is the best. I totally trust him and I know that he will do whatever is necessary to make sure I am satisfied. Hopefully, Blair will add cleaning the windows to their standard installation procedure."

"The work crew arrived on time, and, over approximately 3 days, removed the old roof, replaced damaged decking, replaced flashing, and put down deck felt, and repaired a damaged soffit.  The new roofing was the style and color I requested.  What I was equally impressed with was the clean up! <br />"

"<p>Ground Zero did a top-notch job from start to finish! It is rare these days to be inspired to write a positive review, so let me dive in with the details:<br /> 1. Sales - I visited their showroom in South OKC. Alicia was very friendly and knowledgeable about the shelters. I'm an engineer by trade and had many geeky engineering questions; Alicia was able to answer every question I had about the construction and design. She walked me through how the entire process is handled, and even described OKC's building permit process.  Was so impressed that I made the purchase on-the-spot.  The price I indicated ($2300) was a sales price for the "smaller" shelter, so your price may vary.  <br /> 2. Permits/Pre-Install:  Ground Zero provided pre-filled forms for the building permit. If you live in OKC you can go online and apply, then fax the forms. They (the City) will call you back for your CC number and give you the permit number (which you provide back to Ground Zero.   Ground Zero people followed up with me four days before install to ensure that everything was on-track.<br /> 3.  Installation:  Here is where Ground Zero hit it out of the park. I have to admit I was nervous about the install, as I've had more than a few installations that were total nightmares. My installers - Raul (Installer) and Xavier (Helper) were on time, ready to start immediately, and were very polite and professional.  Since I had a Pre-Tensioned Slab we had to call Suncoast to cut /re-anchor the cables latticed underneath the slab, this caused Raul and Xavier some minor delay and re-marking, but both of them worked seamlessly with Suncoast with the modifications and everything quickly was back on track.  Raul quickly had the slab cut and dirt removed within 1.5 hours, he was able to finesse the mini-excavator like a pro, probably could use it to pick up toothpicks if he wanted. Xavier was constantly moving and took care of the 1000 other smaller tasks, Raul and Xavier worked together like clockwork and rarely needed to talk.   When they were done they cleaned EVERYTHING, not a spot of mud anywhere inside or on the driveway, Raul used the pressure washer for a good 30 minutes just on the driveway.  While Raul hauled the dirt away, Xavier finished the troweling on the cement backfill leaving it with a nice raised feathering that looks very professional.   NEVER in four hours on site did I see either gentleman take a break to loaf, they were constantly moving and working non-stop. <br /> I'm very pleased with the professionalism of the Ground Zero Team from Start to Finish, and pleased with the final product.   No, I'm not a "shill" nor do I work for Ground Zero. I am just one consumer that is tired of writing bad reviews for bad service, and pleased for once to be able to write an outstanding Review!</p> <br />"

"I was hoping to get a lush green lawn with weeds removed and out of sight. <br /> After giving the service to Waynes I have waited for over a year and half and still have not seen much results with improving lawn. <br /> While the treatments were done regularly and the amount from bank deducted monthly, I did not see any difference in my lawn. <br /> I have decided to cancel their service and proceed with another agency. <br />"

"We highly recommend ARS Roofing! First of all, they are very knowledgeable in dealing with insurance companies, and they made that part of the process very easy for us. They also work hard to minimize and/or eliminate costs to the homeowner. I found Ross and Caleb to be very professional - they provided temporary measures to reduce additional damage while we got everything finalized and scheduled. Once their guys started the actual work on the roof, it went very quickly. By the time they were finished on Day 2, you couldn't even tell they had been here (other than the new roof, of course). In other words, they did an outstanding job of cleaning up after themselves. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Bottom line - call ARS before you file an insurance claim. They'll walk you through the whole process, and in the end, you'll be very happy with the end result. <br />"

"I had some storm damage to my roof and fence, and Quantum Renovations came out and did a through free inspection and found a lot of damage to my roof that the 1st insurance examiner missed.  Quantum Renovations representative came back, <br /> at no charge, and went on the roof with the 2nd insurance examiner, and the final finding was that the roof needed to be replaced, just as the Quantum Renovations representative had said. Prior to going forward with contracting Quantum Renovations for the work,  I researched roof replacements and I still had others to give me estimates (first time I?ve ever had to replace a roof so I wanted to ensure I asked the right questions and getting a few estimates is a good thing for me).  One company looked at the claim paperwork and immediately said they could do the work for the amount and did not even give mean inspection.  Yes, it was my mistake for letting him see the claim paperwork without him first conducting the inspection. He acted so quick to try and get my business that I could not consider his company because by not inspecting my roof I could not tell the quality of their work, whether they are through and detailed oriented, he probably could not address questions specifics to my roof, and he had not gained my trust.  Quantum Renovations representative patiently went through the entire process with me.   He even came out and took me to a few homes that they replaced the entire roof.  This was really helpful not only to see the quality of their work but helped in determining what color shingles to place on my roof.  The Quantum Renovations representative gained my trust and kept it throughout the entire experience.  As the roof was being replaced there were a few minor concerns and they were addressed and resolved to my satisfaction.     <br /> <br />"

"We are thrilled with the final project as it exceeded our expectations! I do not like the look of a traditional storage unit and wanted something that looked like it was part of the house with columns, gabled roof, siding on the front peak, and removable lattice panels so that we could use the garden house for storage and/or gardening projects. It looks stunning and our neighbors were impressed with our new addition (they thought it was a new room and were shocked to see that it was for storage). Connie and Greg were always on time, polite, and gave us great ideas and suggestions and all work was done quickly and to very exacting standards. We are so thrilled that we are going to use them to remodel our master bathroom and kitchen, two very big jobs. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Kennedy, AL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
