"tPrompt response, professional appearance and work, very courteous. Price was a little high but worth it because of the quick response and clean professional work done. <br /> Original installation of one of the water heaters was poorly done. Example of this was the top vent was routed into the attic but the connection to the roof vent was not aligned so the vent was left unattached. They corrected this during the installation of the new water heater instead of just leaving it as the original installation had the vent routed. <br /> Not only was the installation of the new water heaters well done but they were also very good about cleaning up before they left the work area. <br /> <br />"

"I hired Freed Pluming to fix my toilet and bathroom faucet. I don’t know much about these things. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He was efficient and I haven’t had any issues since. I will be calling him again for any other concerns or issues I have. If you’re looking for a plumber that knows what they’re doing, give Jared a call at Freed Pluming!"

"Great! Fred came out within 2 hours of my call. This being a Saturday and me having a family party in the afternoon, I was very thankful. He had the sewer line cleaned in less than an hour. He will be returning Monday to do a hydro flush of the line. Is giving me a price break on return visit which I appreciate. Highly recommend."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"I had three new toilets installed to replace those originally installed with the house in 1993. The service went very well. From the polite and efficient office administrators, Karen and Rachel, to the competent plumber, Rachel.  An aspect that truly stands out about Evans Mechanical is the attention they provide to the customer. Prior to the toilet installation, I had had Evans replace the furnace (a bigger and more expensive job), and I was pleased with their professionalism every step of the way. Communication matters a great deal, and Karen and Rachel are excellent communicators.  <br /> Curtis, the plumber, was kind, respectful of my home, worked efficiently, and showed me how to clean the tank so that I can hopefully preempt any fungal buildup to which toilets in this humid forested area are prone. He had also found the best possible match to the existing tile in my bathrooms, so we special-ordered the "biscuit" porcelain (for about an extra $100 per toilet).  <br /> I'm very pleased that I went with Evans Mechanical both for my plumbing needs and the new furnace. I felt that I was dealing with a responsive, reputable company that understands the importance of treating customers well. <br />"

"I was in need of a new replacement water heater and after comparing prices with others I settled on The Honest Plumber. They furnished the new water heater and installed it for me the day after I called at a very reasonable price. A service guy by the name of Ricky came to my house to do the work. From the onset he was courteous and professional and did an excellent job with the installation. He even explained to me the various steps he would take to complete the job. Before he left he explained the basic features of the new water heater and how everything worked. All in all I am very satisfied and would recommend The Honest Plumber to anyone needing plumbing type work done."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Kernville, CA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
