"These folks responded quickly to me. I worked directly with the owners of the company. They took out my existing (falling apart) wood picket fence (483'), hauled it off and had my new fence in the same day. They had to come back the next day to install one of my gates because I decided to change the size from 5' to 8' for mowers. They did it without any issue. Highly recommend for cost and availability."

"They had estimated for a security gate for the drive way for about $12418. They were very professional. The price was a bit high. I probably will not use them again in the future."

"American Fence and Gate installed a new black metal pool fence for our home, along with a custom enclosure for our pool equipment using composite material. Milton was great throughout the entire process with quote, regular communication regarding install, and followup to ensure quality work. The Team did an amazing job - we love our new backyard!"

"Outstanding experience--had a major inconvenience with a stuck driveway gate. A number of other potential contractors I had called either declined the work or simply told us we would need a new system. Called Robert on Thursday afternoon and he was out on Friday morning. Not only restored functionality but improved it significantly, and taught me a great deal about how our ancient system, which we inherited when we bought the house, works in the process. Would absolutely recommend without reservation."

"Because of my scheduling issues, the work took place over two days. On the first day, a Tuesday, a crew came to pressure walk the sidewalks around my house and to clean my gutters ($150 for each of these tasks, for a total of $300). Then two days later, another crew came to wash my windows ($405 for this). When the estimator came earlier, he gave me a cost range for all three tasks, based on the time they would take. The pressure-washing and gutter-cleaning came in at the low end of the range; the window washing came in at the higher end--but all three jobs were within the price range quoted. The jobs were done very well -- I had not seen the real color of my sidewalks in so long that I was quite surprised to find out what they look like when the layer of dirt and silt was gone! The window-washing was perhaps the more difficult task. My house was built in the 1940s, and both the windows and storm windows are old. I hadn't tried to wash the windows or even move the storm windows since I moved in more than ten years ago. The crew worked hard in the July heat (and in my mosquito ridden yard) to wrestle with the old windows and screens; today, my windows sparkle. Both crews were courteous and hard-working. I'll call Alpine again.

"

"I called around several vendors and had several quotes from all of them. While Volunteer wasn't the cheapest they provided the quickest response to all questions and promptly return my calls. They set a date/time for the installation and were right on time, early actually. The crew came out and install the fence in two days and did a great job. The fence looks great and we are very pleased with the service provided. The workers were not keen on keeping us up to date on progress which might bother some but it did not us. They did the job and left without notice which is fine by me.
The cleanup was a little sloppy as I found several cases from the nail gun and left tools but it is not a big deal. I cleaned it up easily and am thankful for the hard work they put in to make this beautiful fence a reality. I highly recommend using Volunteer fencing for your fencing needs as they exceeded my expectations by a long shot.

"

"The price and quality of end result workmanship was good. We are happy with the fence, itself. Phil, the sales person/field manager initially came out to give us our estimate. Phil was polite, efficient, timely with his intial response and Maury's price was competitive. However, you will need to do your own homework about styles, options, etc, as they don't bring any brochures, don't offer much in the wasy of consultative selling. Phil did make a recommendation to choose the cedar wood instead of the pine as the cedar does "better in the TN heat"; which is what we chose.
We would have rated this company much higher had they been more responsive wtih follow up/scheduling and more efficient about doing the actual work. I believe they would greatly improve their productivity if they had someone else handling the scheduling and had some sort of incentive for their laborers to get the jobs actually completed.
We "accepted" their quote the beginning of June; I had our Association approval a couple weeks later, called and left a message for Phil indicating that we had the approval, to please contact me about getting us on the schedule. It took Phil two days to get back with me; when he did, he said they had gotten behind due to all the rain we'd been having so it would probably be about 3 weeks. He said we were in the queue and HE would call me in a couple weeks, to give me a better idea exactly when they would be out. We were told it would take 2 days to complete - one day to set the posts, the next to do the work.
Three weeks later, we still had not heard from Phil; we called him. He said they were still behind, he was going to be on vacation, but that they should be able to get us in, in about a week. Two weeks later, and after a couple more calls, we were finally scheduled for the beginning of August. They came out one morning to set the posts - we fully understand that it takes one day to set the posts. However, it then took another full week and two more visits before the work was fully completed! I have a hunch that because our job was small, they kept squeezing us in between other jobs.
On the day they were supposed to come "early" they didn't come until around noon, then, all they did was set the frame; the guys would work about 20-30 minutes and then proceeded to take a 20 minute break. Seeing this pattern my husband asked them when they expected to be done. He was told, "oh we're not going to able to get this one today, we'll have to come out tomorrow to finish"! We do not believe in taking advantage "of the hired help"; we make sure we provide cool water, etc. The weather, while it was still August, did not necessitate a 30 minute break for every 30 minutes of work! Keep in mind, the neighbor across the street had a full three sided fence done in two concurrent days flat!
In summary, the price was competitive and the actual quality and workmanship is good; our fence looks great! But if you need to get the fence up and completed quickly, you may be frustrated ... you'll need to be prepared to be responsible for a lot of follow up and be the "squeaky wheel"!

"
