"Phenomenal experience with Scott! He took great care of us! I’m currently 8 months pregnant and was uncomfortable bringing my child into this model infested apartment. Due to Scott’s expertise the leasing office broke my lease without penalties and will reimburse deposit fees. Thanks again! Highly recommended."

"I called Nathaniel after another contractor found suspected asbestos tape in our crawl space. Nathaniel was able to arrange a same-day appointment for me at a price that was the best of all the many companies I called. He arrived on time and was professional, courteous, and competent. I plan to continue with them for the abatement of any issues his testing uncovers and would highly recommend his team!"

"Scott Dana was amazing. He combed every inch of the home. He found so many minor and major items. One issue was mold on the trusses which the builder has to pay to address and not me! He met us at the site and once he completed his work went over all his findings. He delivered his very detailed complete with photos later that day. Scott always replied to my emails fast too whether it be a weekend or holiday. THIS is the way business should be run! I intend on pasting this review into other sites as well because his service was THAT good. IMHO, I cant see how one could be better than this firm!!"

"My husband did a thorough search of radon information, testing, standards, certifications, and treatment methods prior to contacting Georgia Radon Solutions. Mr. Stein responded promptly and spent time speaking with us. He demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the subject, had a full certification portfolio, and assessed our property fully, drawing detailed specifications of the project. Every project is unique and deserves careful attention. Mr. Stein explained the plan to lower our elevated level of radon (obtained by independent testing), and followup testing to be done every ten months to assure that all samples remain below recommended values. Mr. Stein was very professional, helpful, and supervised every step of the process. The installation went well, with no mess or disruption. We are delighted with the results of our endeavor, and certainly recommend his company for anyone thinking about radon remediation."

"I paid $1,156 for a "complete" package which included the home, sewer, radon, and termite inspection. The home inspection was completed in 2.5hrs which was quicker than I expected for my large home. The big issue came with the termite inspection. The company Champia uses as subcontractor couldn't provide the certificate that shows no termites because the home is stucco and they would require a 4-6inch gap be cut around the ENTIRE home in order to inspect and certify. This caused major issues as there was no explanation - just an email with an attachment that vaguely said no certification was completed. When I called to get a refund for the termite inspection they gave me a refund of.......$45. I feel insulted they expect me to believe they paid a subcontractor $45 for a termite inspection and certificate. Now I'm scrambling to finalize this part of the home buying process."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Kingston, GA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
