"I had a tankless water heater installed but needed the gas line to be dug from the other side of the house for it to be connected. The job was complicated but Luke and his crew from Mr. Rooter did a great job! I would totally hire them again for any plumbing needs. "

"I would like to give credit to another plumber, Luke's Plumbing. I called him and had to try several times to get him. He's very busy and could not get to me for several days. At this point, the faucet went from dripping to streaming. Luke suggested I call Cedar Bluff and said he knew them and they were good. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and he did a good job of getting in there and repairing the problem."

"Response was fast. Work crew was very careful and professional. Utility room floor was nicely patched with smoothed concrete; I only had to replace about 6 tiles for a like-new appearance. later Job took about 6 or 7 hrs, start to finish. No leaks, and water pressure about 5 psi higher than before the break, probably due to smooth new pipe interior. EXCELLENT alternative to digging up concrete slab and interior flooring across half the house, and much cheaper to boot. Also, if PEX pipe should ever fail (unlikely), it can be pulled from the protective plastic conduit and replaced by a new one, with no excavation. Definitely would use this approach again."

"Called provider about cleaning out a kitchen vent stack from the roof. Provider stated it would cost $185 without even knowing how difficult or easy the job would be. He also stated that he would not be responsible for any old pipes that might break on the job. His comment gave us an uneasy feeling so we chose to call someone else. <br />"

"Can't praise Premier Handyman services highly enough! Two technicians arrived at the assigned time and promptly began the installation of our downstairs kitchenette: base cabinets, counter top, sink (to existing rough-in), wall cabinets, and a ceiling fan bracket in our main kitchen. They were fully prepared, knowledgeable about the job at hand, polite and mindful of our personal space, and paid close attention to not only the installation but also the cleanup. There was NO wasted time and their rates were quite competitive with others in the area. This is our second service from Premier Handyman and will definitely use their talents in the future should the need arise. Additionally, I have already recommended them to others in my immediate area!"

"The faucet had a ceramic disk on the end of the shut off stem instead of a rubber washer. The disk had broken. We had to cut the faucet off and replace it. Took about 45 minutes, excellent job and a great guy. It would have taken me all day to do it."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Kingston, TN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
