"They refused to provide all services quoted to me. They were late to start the project in the first place several times. The amount of time it took them to complete was way over the estimation, and my neighbors said the workers spent most of their day smoking cigarettes and socializing. They had me paint everything myself, and then sanded the wood but didn't repaint it, so I had to do it twice. The work was sloppy and unfinished. After I hired them I found out a friend of mine from work hired them recently and they warned me to stay away. I didn't listen and I should have."

"Roof Modification; required framing, connecting exhausts to roof vents, painting and roofing. Cost: 22,775 dollars From the end of November 2019 through March 2020 (expected 2 to 4 weeks, but end up taking 4 months). Except for the final roofing, the whole project was done by a father and his son (who was just learning) without supervisions. They came with a very old sedan (late 90s model?) which broke down twice during the project. No company logo was on the car. They did not bring their own ladders (as a roofer??) and used the ladder I bought from Goodwill throughout the project. The head man came here once (8 AM on Jan 7, 2020) because of my complaints. There was no inspection when it was completed. In January 2021, I found mold and blackened plywood and one of the exhaust connections fell on the floor. After long arguments, the problems were taken care of (?) in April, 2021. This is his email on 2021 03 16: “…...Then look at it in three years and if there are any failures then you would still be under warranty and we would redo it. I think what we have proposed will work, but if it does not you would still be covered.” On October 30th 2021, I went up to my attic again after long heavy raining. 3 of the vent connections were disconnected. There is possible leaking from a vent. I do not know how long this has been going on. All info was sent to Ron, the owner. I called him, before I could explain what happened, he accused me of having another contractor involved in this matter. BTW, I do not and did not have another contractor involved. He did not want to listen to me, cutting me off and telling me to sue him and then he hanged up on me. All I can say is that he is a very rude and unprofessional business man. Here were some of the comments he sent me in the past. 2021 03 13 Quote “Gaps??? So what. It is framing and makes no difference. You know nothing about construction.” 2021 03 13 How many inspections do you want on should we do on a small $20,00 No more comments, but JUDGE THIS by YOURSELF!!!"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Kingston, WA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
