"Devin has done work for us in the past and is always on-time and does great work within our budget. We recently had some power issues and he came over as soon as we called. After doing some investigating he determined the issue and we couldn't be happier. We will continue to use Current Electric."

"Overall a good experience for troubleshooting a problem. A little expensive for the amount of time spent. Problem was either with appliance or electric circuit and they checked the electric circuit but missed problem with electrical connection to the appliance later found by an appliance repair person."

"I purchased 2 hours of electrical labor for $149. With 2 projects, I thought this would be a great deal. When I scheduled they said they were sending 2 electricians for one hour instead of 1 electrician for two hours. I figured this was fine, one could work each job. Instead they sent an electrician and his apprentice. The electrician worked on the outlet and his apprentice ran his errands getting tools and standing and watching him work. Needless to say the ceiling fan did not get done. They were done in 45 minutes and then were going to charge me an additional $45 for parts. When I complained he said he would credit me the 15 minutes left and therefore would call it even. Overall $149 for an outlet install was a decent deal. On a side note, the apprentice had dried mud all over his shoes which he tracked into my house. When I pointed it out he was apologetic. Also, the outlet was installed a little too close to the pillar of our pergola. The outlet cover scrapes the pillar every time it's opened and closed. Last year I purchase 8 hours of electrical labor from Front Range Electric and they sent 2 electricians for 4 hours and those men completed 8 different projects, and even made a trip to Lowes for parts."

"I cannot say enough good things about American Electrician. Shortly after buying our house and building out the barn, I called them to add additional power to the barn. When they quoted the job, they also gave the option to upgrade the existing circuits to current code. I opted to have them do it all, just for a little piece of mind in our new home. When the electrician arrived on the first day of the job, he realized that the job was bid incorrectly because of the dirt floor in the barn. The electrician knew before he touched anything that it was going to be significantly more work than bid. To American Electrician’s credit, the stuck by the original quote and never once tried to change that. The integrity shown in this situation tells me that this is not the type of company that cuts corners. Ever. As for the work, I am extraordinarily happy with the outcome. Everything was done in conduit and it looks incredibly precise. The switches are all water resistant and the power outlets are covered. All of the new outlets are placed exactly where I asked for it. The whole was extremely polite and kept me and my wife informed throughout the project and through the final inspection. They were working in a barn with a dirt floor, so I can’t attest to their cleanliness. But I appreciated how many people on the team had experience in farms and agriculture, so they respected the distinct environment of a barn. I highly recommend American Electrician."

"Bradley is very professional and very knowledgeable and on time. He was also able to get started on our house right away when others said it would be weeks. Our breaker box was very old and the wiring in our house was a mess and it needed replaced and repaired. We only had a couple of electrical outlets inside the house and we had no power to the bathroom. We also wanted him to also install new ceiling lights and we wanted him to add new outlets. Bradley replaced the old fuse box with a new fuse box and he added new outlets and replaced the old ceiling lights with new ones. He also got power restored to the bathroom. When he was done everything worked like brand-new and his rates were by far the best that we could find. It was the first time ever using an electrician that we felt like we didn't get ripped off."

"Darren is amazing to work with! He understands my vision and is thorough in making sure everything is what I want. His company remodeled our master bath and kitchen in our previous home and it all looked beautiful! He completely finished the basement in our current home (2500 sf) adding 2 beds and 2 baths, built in wet bar and gorgeous fireplace surround. I would not hire any other company for any remodel or custom renovation. Reliable, reasonably priced, prompt, clean, incredible communication and extremely creative! Love them!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Kiowa, CO

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
