"I hired Apex to do some finished carpentry on a basement finish he trimmed all the doors and windows, installed baseboard, installed wainscoting on the wet bar, and trimmed the outside door, I am very happy with the quality of his work, his quote was very reasonable, he was very responsive when I had questions, he showed up when he said he would and he cleaned up after himself, I will definitely use them again, Ken is going to be my go to guy for sure!"

"It is rare that I find a contractor as good as this one. I was blown away by all aspects of their work and their attention to detail. The J Stefan crew is awesome, friendly and hard working. They came on time and their price was very fair. They completed a wide range of services from creating a drainage culvert, paving, spreading loam and digging up tree stumps. It is hard to find a company that can "do it all" and do it all WELL, but this one meets those qualifications! I highly recommend J Stefan Contracting."

"Jason and his team did an awesome job on our pool patio. We were especially happy with how well he communicated with us throughout the project and followed up to ensure we were happy with the final product. His team showed up when expected, worked hard and cleaned up the site when the job was complete. I would definitely recommend Seacoast Concrete to anyone. They were an excellent company to work with and we are very satisfied with the quality of their work!"

"Mike was able to fit me in the same day for an estimate which surprised me because I'm sure a lot of people are needing his services with all the rain lately but he was in the area that day and came by. Although the company is a nation wide chain, its a franchise and a small business. He is an honest Vermonter with Vermont values which I appreciate. He gave me options but didn't try to talk me into something I couldn't afford and is doing the work within two weeks which I was also happy about being a very busy time for this type of thing."

"Alex showed up on time and did a good job. He works very swiftly and did what he said he would. Our price was agreed upon before he began. I paid a fair amount, a bit high, but he did it within 24 hours and it looks great. He is also professional during interactions and respectful."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Kittery Point, ME

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
