"The men that did the work related to the prepping the yard for the retaining wall, placing the rock and pavers for the walkway did a very good job and it really looked nice. I've worked in construction and building maintenance for over 50 years, so I know what's good workmanship and what's poor. The worker who did the framing for the new sidewalk, steps and porch was poor workmanship. Nothing was level or straight and I had to have the other crew correct the forms before concrete was poured. The guys that finished the concrete did an excellent job. Never let D&D workers connect the lawn sprinkler piping to your house water piping. They seem to be handymen, not real plumbers. Beside not installing necessary valves and fittings to winterizing the sprinkler system, all the copper pipe was installed crooked, under stress and not supported correctly. Overall, half the crew did very good work, the other half needs training."

"Short version. Awesome design, met all of my requirements. Blown away by speed and quality of the landscaping work which I asked them to continue on and do. No reservations about recommending them every single time. Fernando and his team were just fantastic. Long version: Landscaping contractors are hard to read. There are so many of them, and some can talk a good game and then take 3 months because it's actually just two guys in a truck. So I was nervous until the first day when I think eight people, in safety vests showed up and began the project. I was having a full landscaping removal and replacement. Day one, the fence was out, and the new one was halfway up. Over a very short period of time, back yard slope was reduced and an excellent retaining wall installed. New French drains, new cement path from front driveway all the way to deck in backyard. Sprinklers, rocks, grass, bushes, sod, all came in waves. They used good equipment, took great care to not damage neighbor lawns, etc. On the design, I'd asked for something a little more modern, not xeriscaped, but less wasteful, and they delivered. I paid the extra for the 3D rendering which was awesome. It made it very easy to see what I was going to get. They were open to questions and suggestions, sent me the options on stuff like outside lighting and stain colors when appropriate, so again, no surprises. The worst thing I can say about the entire project was somebody forgot to toss a bottle in the trash one day. That's it. No damage, no surprises, no disappearances, none of the nightmares I've had with other landscaping projects in previous places. This was a dream. The idea of spending this much money (since it was a total redo) was very stressful, but seeing it come together so quickly and so nicely really helped a bunch. Final thought, Comcast probably didn't bury your cable deep enough, and even though it's located correctly, it will probably get ripped out. It took Comcast 3 weeks to fix it. That was not awesome and isn't Colorado Sunshine's fault. Be prepared."

"Larry and his crew were truly fabulous and extremely professional to work with every single day for the entire job (5 days). They showed up on time every day and worked solidly through till the end of the day. They didn't quit until the everything was done. <br /> <br />Larry was always available whenever I had any questions or concerns. He was professional but easy to get along with and always happy. I was nervous about the whole job as I didn't feel like I had communicated my vision or what I wanted to happen. At our initial meeting, Larry was receptive to our ideas but also understood that we were open to ideas and suggestions that he might provide. We had met with other contractors and they had provided us with comparable quotes to Larry's. However, those quotes were exactly what we had communicated with no suggestions for improvements or other options. We had some ideas of what we wanted for an end result, but no real clear details. Larry was able to bring his 40+ years of experience and knowledge to the table and guide us in the right direction and am I ever glad he did. There's a lot to be said for experience. The end result is incredible and even now, 3 months later, we still step outside andare amazed with the transformation of our backyard. We LOVE it. I couldn't be happier with the final product. <br /> <br />After the complete demolition of the backyard, Larry's crew installed patio pavers. The quality with which the pavers were installed is comparable to what you would find on a high-traffic commercial site. All of the proper steps were followed and the necessary layers (i.e.: road base, sand) installed. In addition to the pavers, we had three beautiful raised planters installed, along with the necessary sprinkler system. We had two steps installed off the house as well and I was really concerned with them being too small and I wanted to make sure that my concerns were heard and heeded. Both Larry and his crew reassured me that they understood what I wanted and they nailed it. They built exactly what I wanted. <br /> <br />Anytime I had a concern with the way something was going, Larry was receptive and positive about my feedback and any concerns were immediately addressed. As well, Larry made sure that at the end of the job that we went through everything together and addressed any and all concerns. As with any major job, little things happen. For instance, some of the stucco on the side of our house was scratched and broken when the flagstones were moved and one of the fence boards was broken. Larry addressed those two specific things immediately and fixed them himself, as well as any other problems. I hesitate to even call them problems, as they were dealt with so fast and so professionally, that I never felt that they even escalated to a and quot;problem statusand quot;. <br /> <br />I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Larry and his crew for any sort of paver work, or other work, you are considering. They are professional, honest, hard-working and friendly. They are truly a great local company that I am proud to have worked with."
