"Fantastic service. This is the second time we've hired R & G Water Systems. Both times we had an issue in the middle of the night and they were able to send someone out first thing in the morning. They replaced our well pump the same day (within a few hours of calling actually). This went as smoothly as the first time we hired them and would definitely continue to use them."

"Hank & his crew worked very hard to get the job done in 2 days. Due to another job they had to start the following morning I'm sure they would've have liked to have an extra day to complete the job They Installed a sump pump system in the basement the concrete was a monolithic poured slab a very thick concrete floor they Jack hammered threw to install the sumps drain pipes."

"I hired a plumber through HomeAdvisor using prepay but I would not recommend this service. The contractor left a leaky pipe that caused water coming up through carpet. I had to purchase a wet vacuum to dry out the carpet. I had to contact HomeAdvisor again and hired Dave the Plumber, LLC who had to redo the installation done previously. Dave the Plumber replaced all the piping and outside spigot because of a water leak the previous contractor left. Thank you Dave the Plumber for being a professional and a job well done."

"Just started working with Markool this summer and they have been fantastic! When I need service, they are so fast and every person we have interacted with has been polite, knowledgeable and personable. We unexpectedly needed to replace our system during a heat wave and they were super. So responsive and quick. I would highly recommend Markool for all of your HVAC needs!"

"The required fix required that outside trenching be done and B-Dry does not do this type of work. The representative was very knowledgeable about the problem and apologized for not being able to solve the issue. Very much appreciated his honesty."

"I have used these guys for a few years now for all of my water needs. They have replaced piping, replaced a busted valve, installed a water softener system, and completed water testing for the sale of my house. I have NEVER been disappointed. Denise has been my go to person and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. These guys come into my house by themselves and I never have to worry. Completely top notch quality work from people that are honest and trustworthy! I thank them for all they have done... and I am sure they will continue to do for me in the future."

"Couldn't have gone better. I called the emergency line about 5:30 a.m. They returned the call within 15 minutes, and had me check a few simple things first over the phone to ensure it wasn't something I could easily fix. It wasn't. Someone was here by early afternoon; turned out to be a bad wire about 100 ft into a 350 ft well. They explained the options - repair the wire or pull the old pump and replace everything. We opted for just the wire repair."

"Dan arrived and was very professional and friendly. He immediately discovered that my filter was clean and asked if it was replaced before or after I noticed problems...good attention to detail. I had replaced it after I noticed problems because it was very dirty, but also after a family friend came to look at the unit to see if it had any electrical issues. After Dan checked the furnace inside and found nothing wrong, he checked the unit outside and immediately found that my disconnect breaker was pulled out and hidden inside of the unit. The family friend left it out, so the unit wasn't going to kick on. After he got the unit running, he checked the freon levels which were fine, and he said everything looks to be good. The system was producing cool air once again...turns out it was just the filter, only I hadn't replaced it until after the system was messed with, so I couldn't tell that it was an effective fix. Thanks Dan!"

"Needed sewage pump replaced and line opened up. Called several others (Barr, A+,Fremyer, Comstock, Tri County) . None knew or cared what to do. I was told various things, call someone else or just ghosted. Powells took the bull by the horns. They tracked down the manufacturer of my old school system here in The Woods and with some detective work diagnosed and replaced pump without digging it all up. Two prior companies had said it needed to be dug up. If you have a REAL problem, call a REAL plumber!"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Knoxville, MD

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
