Small jobs welcome

"The job was masterfully performed by the owner of the company. As a 83 yr old disabled veteran, I really appreciated his professionalism and years of experience. The job was completed on time per our contract and the workmanship was excellent in every respect at rack level of completion. I have numerous projects performed during my 83 yrs but this one was the very best. "

" In 2011, we bought a house in Portland. The fuel tank had been checked as decommissioned by Dana Thompson, and the soil tested as zero contamination at both tank ends by Soil S*******s. When we went to sell the house last Dec 2024, we were told by the same company which did the original testing, that now it was now badly contaminated. The oil furnace had been replaced by Deutsche Bank with a gas furnace before we bought it, so it became contaminated before we purchased the house. The most recent test was explained as a difference of only a couple inches between clean and badly contaminated soil and we would have to accept all legal liability to neighboring properties….a financial disaster. Ted excavated the tank with impressive accuracy with very tight house spacing. I have no hesitation in giving Ted a 5-star rating. "

"This company is awesome. Very communicative, responsive, ethical, on time and even went the extra mile when it appeared some bubbles appeared. They came back immediately, re-sanded the floor and put another coat on. The floor looks fabulous and I will definitely recommend them to anyone else looking for this service and of course, these people will be the only company I use in the future. Thank you David and all of your employees for such great service and great work. AWESOME"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in La Pine, OR

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
