"Provider was very responsive with quote and scheduling.  Did an outstanding job, and make contact after application to ensure I was satisfied with job done and to address any issues.   <br> <br>Debottis made sure the seal coating was applied to asphalt an not mating stamped concrete sidewalk or adjacent concrete garage door entry ways.  <br> <br>Extremely satisfied and will be doing business with Debottis again.   <br> <br>Only regret is I never got to or needed to meet the actual people at Debottis.  "

"Of all the people that left bids this expert found a void under another adjacent slab. Our driveway is patterned concrete and the look could never be matched with a replacement slab. Knowledgable, articulate, and wore a mask when asked."

"Pat ...the cost/project estimater was very thorough as to what needed to be done. He was not pushy at all and very easy going. His estimate was cheaper than others and they were able to start the project at an earlier date than others. Mark the owner was also great! I liked the idea he has only one solid team that works with him. Mark brings his team in and is with them every step of the way until project finished! Both Pat and Mark were available to answer any questions at almost anytime.., weekends...at night.. didn’t matter!! Would highly recommend them!!"

"Completely rebuilt our 26-year-old wood burning mason fireplace to bring it up to code. In the firebox completely removed fire brick from back and both side walls. completely removed clay flue and replaced with insulated stainless steel. This included adding a lever operated lock top damper and stainless-steel exterior flue cap. Much time was spent adding chamber tech 2000 parge coating to the smoke chamber. Kevon and his two workers were excellent. All details on steps being taken were clearly explained. All carpeting was protected from the front door to the work area in the family room. All debris was removed from the job site. This was a big job that took two days to complete. Am following the recommended wait time and break in steps to be taken. It is comforting to know that we have a completely safe fireplace that is up to code. Looking forward on having Doctor Flue perform annual chimney sweeps during the off season. FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Lakeland, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
