Dan and his guys demo’d a huge, old concrete patio and stairs along with clearing out numerous overgrown bushes. They installed a new patio and walkway along with two sets of entry stairs. "We hired Driveway Specialists to do repairs to our driveway and to do a seal coat. I struggled with the rating here. If I were just evaluating them based on the quality of the work, I'd give an A. And the people I dealt with were polite and friendly. But my customer service experience with them was frustrating. I won't go into all the details here, but it boils down to this. They were at times difficult to get a hold of. Also, on ore than one occasion, I was told by them that a job would be done on a particular day or week, only to have them not show up when they said they would and not call or email to let me know or to offer an alternative. It should be a basic expectation that when someone says they're going to do work on Day X, they show up on Day X to work. And if they are unable to fulfill that commitment, they should contact the customer to let them know. On too many occasions, Driveway Specialists failed to meet that basic expectation of customer service. Reading the reviews on Angieslist, it is clear that others have had my experience, but that we are a minority. Most people seemed to have had great experiences with Driveway Specialists. I can confirm the high quality of their finished work . But my customer service experience with them was bad."

"Joe was very easy to get in contact. Himself and his crew showed up on time and worked neatly. His equipment was state of the art and I could tell he takes pride in his work. Not only that Joe is a class act and did my 91 year old grandfathers 10 car driveway. My grandfather was very pleased with the service."

"Everything went very well. Lou works with his son and wife, Lourdes, to plan and install the work. This was a tricky job because of the narrow space, which was bordered by a high stone wall on one side and the house on the other. The work was done thoroughly and quickly and is of high quality. The sidewalk includes a curved edge done with a mold created by Lourdes who has a background as a material engineer! By adding a step and redesigning the placement and slope of the walkway, it's now easier to access the front door and the walkway is less icy this winter. Lou and Andrew also installed a handrail, removed a large bush that was crowding the walkway, and found and repaired a rotting porch support. In addition to doing high quality, timely work, the Ranieri's are great people and a pleasure to work with."

It was a tricky project as it was built on a steep bank. Not only did they build a beautiful looking wall, their professionalism, and attention to detail were first class. "The estimate was casual and in-person, the owner of the company came to look over everything himself, give me options, and we discussed prices on the spot. We had to wait a couple months until the ground had thawed, but the crew arrived on the day they said, and set to work. The old retaining wall was removed, the earth was dug up and drainage was put in, then a new wall. All the work was done in two days, and they cleaned up everything after themselves. <br /> There was a very large boulder to one side, and I expected that to be removed to make way for the wall, but it would have been a lot more money to blast it out, so it made sense to keep it, and they added some field stones around it to make it blend in, and I like the way it ended up looking in the end. <br /> The wall is beautiful and fits in with the landscape. Rather than just go with one color of blocks all the way through, they mixed in a few off color stones, and I was concerned, but I really like the look. Two years later, the wall is still perfectly straight and level and is draining properly. <br /> They did end up stealing one of my shovels though! Well, it was out in the yard and they packed it up with the rest of their gear. They brought it back the next day, and they left me the spare pieces of bluestone that weren't used. I'm using them for stepping stones in the garden. <br /> Thye may not be for you if you're a control freak: If you want a team of designers to draft up perfectly measured and drawn plans that you can look over, with everything measured to the inch, you may want to go with a different design company. Well, they might offer this, but its not what they did for me- the planning stage was informal and loose. But if you are willing to let some professionals with a lot of experience to take your suggestions and needs and do what will work best for your yard and budget, and trust them, you'll end up with some really nice work. <br /> Ill definitely use Best Hands again when I need a new walkway. <br />"

"Jason and co-workers did an excellent job removing and replacing a garage floor that was beyond repair and installing a new concrete surface under a deck. The work was done over three days, as it involved removal of concrete and excess dirt, installation of subsurfaces, installation of wire mesh reinforcement in the garage, and finally pouring of concrete. They also repaired the foundation and shored it up on the downhill side when they discovered that this was necessary, for no additional cost. The work area was cleaned up to the extent possible after the first and second days, and completely after the job was completed. The finished surfaces are beautiful, and I have confidence that they will last for a very long time. I would give Kirby Masonry my highest recommendation."
