"Sean was great! During a remodel, I uncovered what I thought might be asbestos. He made time to come out the same day and collect a sample for testing. Thanks fully the substance wasn’t asbestos, and my project resumed less than 24 hours before my discovery."

"At the recommendation of our plumber, we used Rapid Restoration after we had an issue with leakage in our walls.  They returned our calls promptly, came out the same day for service, and went above and beyond the call of duty to insure we had no issues.  They gave us excellent service overall. <br />"

"I am so grateful for the honest company that Tom runs. Mold can really scare some people (like myself), so it is priceless to have someone as awesome as Tom and his crew to assist with any testing/remediation needs you might have. As the reviews state, Tom talks to you about cleaning up mold on your own over the phone before he even offers to come out and take a look. He honestly just wants to help people!! I had been putting off cleaning up some suspected mold in my basement because it just freaked me out, but when I was selling my house the mold needed to finally be addressed. I knew I was in good hands as soon as I started speaking with Tom. Once I was on his company's schedule, I could rest easy and focus on the many other tasks that come along with selling a home. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience working with this company because all parts were great- the initial phone call, the initial visit, clean-up day, and the before/after difference I saw in my basement after his company was all done! Tom kept me in the loop each step of the way. I could not have asked for a better end result, it was completely worth the money to hire this company of professionals, and I know exactly who to call if I am ever dealing with mold again. I even contacted Tom again recently after dealing with some moisture issues in my new home. He gave me great tips just over the phone! Thank you so much!!"

"We have been planning to do some remodeling in our 70s home and had some cracked/peeling paint. Since we have a baby, I was worried about lead paint exposure. After trying the 3M lead check swabs and getting confusing results, we decided to go with a professional. Itwas totally worth cost and didnt cause any damage. Louis checked every permanent surface of our home. Thankfully lead was only found in our bathtub and some tiles...spots I didn’t even think of! Louis answered my many questions, and I now feel confidant in remodeling. Louis was extremely professional and knowledgeable."

"I cannot say enough good things about Pain in the Glass. The guys who performed the work was so very respectful of my property. They handled everything with care. The work they done was amazing. They did such a great job that I have made another appointment to have windows replaced that I was going to wait for. Do not bother with other big companies that will charge you an arm and a leg. Call Pain in the glass and get great quality work done at half the cost."

"Wish I could give them an A+! I was very impressed with Todd's expertise and customer service. We will definately be going back to Legend for future testing needs. We wanted to test some building materials from our 1920's house for asbestos before doing demolition. I called and consulted Todd over the phone on costs and sample collection before bring the samples over. Their rates for bulk analysis of asbestos were very economical in my opinion ($35 for 1 sample or $25/sample if multiple samples w/ 3-5 day turn) with options to pay for expedited results if you don't have time to wait ($50 for next day/sample or $100 for same day). When I arrived, he came out to talk through the samples and was very knowledgeable about building materials and which were likely or unlikely to contain asbestos. We had some multi-layered plaster and Todd explained how it was constructed and which layers, if any, were the most likely to contain asbestos. We dropped our sample off at 8am and requested next day results since we planned to start demo. We had results later the same day."

"We have used Brian and his team before. Not only is the painting excellent, but the wall and ceiling preparation (crack repair, etc.) is masterful. Cleanup is excellent as well which is particularly difficult when extensive sanding is involved. They worked daily without skipping for other jobs. Cleanup was done daily. They use more materials (plastic coverings, tarps, etc.) than other painters we have used in the past. They do what is necessary for excellent results."

FAQs for toxic lead testing projects in Lakeville, MN

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a strong chance it contains lead-based paint. Many pre-1980 houses also contain lead in their plumbing and decorative materials, so age alone is a significant red flag. Older homes near industrial areas face an even higher risk. Because you can’t confirm lead by sight, scheduling a test is the safest way to protect your family.

In older houses, lead can lurk in painted trim, window sashes, soil around the foundation, plumbing pipes, and even vintage hardware. The metal is toxic, and children and pregnant women are most at risk. Exposure can trigger developmental delays, learning problems, and organ damage. Because the EPA links even low levels to serious health effects, test every suspected surface and address any hazards right away.

A positive test means lead is present somewhere you can touch, breathe, or disturb. The next step is a full risk assessment to map exactly where the hazard lies and outline the safest fix: encapsulation, enclosure, or full removal. Repairs start at $1,000 but can exceed $10,000 for complete elimination, so act quickly and hire certified pros to keep your family safe.

EPA lead certification proves that inspectors, risk assessors, and abatement contractors follow federal safety rules under the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program. The credential costs an average of $300, and certified professionals can legally test, contain, or remove lead hazards. Hiring a certified pro protects you from fines and ensures the work meets strict health standards.

Lead-based paint looks no different from any other paint, so you can’t identify it by color or sheen. Even flawless walls may hide it. If paint starts chipping, flaking, or peeling, schedule a professional test right away. Only laboratory-grade testing confirms lead and guides the safest fix for your home.
