"I hired Andy’s to paint the foyer and stairwell of a two-story home plus an outside garage door. There was miscommunication between the crew and office and me on several occasions. There appeared to be no good plan for completing the work. It ended up taking parts of three days. The work was sloppy and paint ended up on the door, the floors, the carpet, the baseboards and the stairway bannister. I’m going to have to deal with all of that. On more than one occasion, I tried to point out the problems. I was assured they would be corrected, but they were not. I paid for this job in full, but I am far from satisfied and would not recommend hiring them again."

"They did an amazing job! Fernando and Javier went above and beyond my expectations. They caulk/sealed all the cracks on the exterior of the house and under the trim. Fernando kept the property clean. He covered/protected all the windows, doors and grounds. There was no paint spots or spilled paint anywhere on the grounds. I had them paint my house trim and garage door a different color from the stucco. He did such a professional job, the house looks brand new! If I every need more work done I would hire them again. I highly recommend them! Bob"

"Adrian and Brian came on a Windy day and got one window in. Came back the next day at designated time and put in the other 10 windows. Very professional and friendly and got every window put in on 1 day. Windows are beautiful and sealed properly. Made a complete difference to my home."

"Sal and his crew remodeled my kitchen last month. It was my first remodel ever, and I was very nervous as I had no idea what to expect. But, from start to finish, it was such an excellent experience! My smallish galley kitchen had just turned 30 and was definitely in need of an update. I worked with Sal and Lydia to combine my ideas with theirs, and I am absolutely thrilled with the result! The custom made cabinets are beautiful, as are the new quartz counters, tilework, lighting, and appliances. Sal coordinated everything and communicated with me on a daily basis as to who would be arriving, when they would arrive, and what they would do. He often stopped by to check on the progress and touch base with me. The crew also did a great job cleaning up at the end of every work day. Sal had said that the remodel would take 4 weeks, and that is exactly how long it took. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and quality of Enchantment Cabinetry & Design. Very highly recommended."

"We had our countertops and both bathrooms done at the beginning of April. The process has been a nightmare and mid way through June and we still haven’t gotten everything finished. The work was very poor and we even had a bubble form in one of the tubs already. They had to come back after the initial spray to do touch ups but they didn’t do them correctly and they are very noticeable so the job doesn’t look new at all. The communication has been horrendous as well. My local rep has ignored me with every attempt to contact them throughout the job so I’ve had to call corporate many times. They don’t really care either. Their response has been that the reps are locally owned and operated franchises so all they can do is encourage the rep to reach out and respond to me but there’s nothing more they can do. So corporate doesn’t seem to have any stake or care in the reputation of their company. We have exposed edges of the finish in our shower that I know will lead to issues, we have very rough areas from the initial spray where they added so much texture they kept jamming up their own equipment, we have dirt and hair in the finish since they didn’t take care in the process of spraying, we have sanding marks from where they tried to smooth out rough areas but didn’t then take care of them any further, there was overspray on our floors and vanity because they also did not cover or protect the areas around the job properly. When they sprayed our kitchen counters I had to get out my own tarps to cover the dining room and tape off the room opening because the mess was getting all over my house. The comment I got from doing that was “that’s way more than I was willing to do.”"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Lamy, NM

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
