"Hired NorthStarr Builders LLC to refinish a deck that was built in 1977. NorthStarr Owner, Marty Johnson helped us think through whether to replace with a composite material, or sand and refinish existing deck. Ultimately, he recommended replacement of existing surface with a newly introduced product - a cedar-toned treated yellow pine that looks beautiful and fit best within our budget. NorthStarr also stripped and refinished a bench/trellis section of the existing deck to match the new deck material. I appreciated that Marty was a very responsive communicator all through the project and worked with us to address some glitches that inevitably come with a large project like this.
