"Great father and son team! They came when they said they would, they were careful not to damage the garage and flower beds when they dug up the old concrete, and they worked long hours to finish the project quickly as well as doing an excellent job. They spent the time needed to dig up mud and pack in lots of fill and put in rebar to make sure the concrete lasts. We really appreciate their work ethic as well as how easy they were to work with."

"This was a big and complicated job. We talked to several contractors and got a lot of ideas and estimates. Several of the contractors said they couldn't do the job and the other ones wanted twice the money. Fury concrete systems (FCS) was confident they could do the job and they were within what we expected to pay.
This was a hard working crew. They were here every day until the job was completed. They did every thing that we wanted and made it work. We love everything about it. They did a great job. It looks beautiful and the final test was when they were all through and I was washing everything down, The water all drained off exactly as it should.

"Doug came out, gave me a bid for the work and we scheduled for couple weeks later.  I had to drain the pool down 36" before work started and that took about 40 hours total.
Two workers arrived morning of day scheduled, and took down the slide and jack hammered the concrete down 36" around the current 32 year old skimmer.  (I had leak detection come out first and he felt a crack and tested with dye at he bottom of the skimmer).
Next day two different workers came and cut the Slide Water valve over by the pump, capped them, and poured new concrete around new skimmer.  They had suggested we cap that in case someone who buys my home later may want to reinstall a slide or water toy.
Third day I could start filling back up, and two came and refinished the top of the concrete deck where slide posts and water supply had been.
I am very satisfied as my pool was built in 1983 and the plumbing under the deck itself is not viewable.  My pool is working  good now, my suction for my vacuum is twice what it was so obviously the tiny 3" long crack they fixed (I saw the piece) was responsible for slow loss of water level and also had slowed the vacuum.  Very reasonable and accommodating, and I have scheduled them to close my pool this year.  Highly recommend Doug AND his employees.

"Newt did an excellent job. He showed up on time and was well prepared to complete the job before company arrived for the 4th of July. Newt is professional and I will definitely use his services again. He had the fairest price compared to the other bids. He was straight forward and honest in his quote. When an additional cost arose, he contacted me before completing the work.

"Came and tore out old concrete and was planning on finishing the job the next day, but because my old driveway had been so broken and cracked, the ground underneath was so wet it was almost mud. So they waited a week while the ground dried out. Then came and prepped the ground put gravel down and fully compacted it. Put rebar anchors in my existing slab and steps, and poured my new 6" slab. I needed a 6" slab because I occasionally park my semi truck in my driveway. Then they poured the new sidewalk to city code, and broom finished everything. They then put sealer on the whole job. Came back the next day to remove their forms and even back filled dirt to fill the gaps to my lawn. Then blocked the driveway so no one would accidentally drive on it for the next week while everything cured properly. Throughout my experience with this company, any and all questions or concerns that I had were answered promptly. The owner, Nick Jensen, was always available, and usually on site working right along with his employees. Excellent job, would hire them again."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Lava Hot Springs, ID

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
