Bowen Contracting Inc
We are an established locally owned business since 1991. We provide all aspects of home building and remodeling. We are experts in complete basement remodels and finishing, decks, porches, additions, kitchen, bath, roofing and siding. I have built Bowen Contracting Inc. on my reputation. My business license number is on record at the New Jersey Office Attorney General Division of Consumers Affairs offices. We carry a $1,000,000 liability insurance policy held with Associated Ins. Partners, LLC. We are also a member of the Better Business Bureau. My staff are skilled professionals. We are small enough to give personal service but big enough to handle the largest and most difficult projects. You will be dealing with the hands on owner from the initial proposal through to the end of your project. Our goal is to ensure your complete satisfaction throughout every phase of the construction process. Call, Text or Email me anytime @ (609) 405-1577 / bowencontracting@comcast.net
"Unlike other reviews, our experience with Jeff Bowen @ Bowen Contracting left us very frustrated and disappointed due to 4 months of never showing up to build a deck, lots of broken promises, lack of truthfulness and finally when we lost trust in Jeff and felt he longer had integrity as a contractor. Jeff is a contractor who over-promises and under delivers- and I would stay away from him unless he could commit to a schedule and finish date that included penalty clauses for unintended delays. For us we signed a contract with Jeff on 11/4 to build a simple 14x20 deck, paid Jeff his $500 scheduling fee and even provided our credit card number so he could purchase materials and expedite the delivery process. Over the course of 4 months, we were informed by Jeff that materials were ordered, then would be ordered, then again they were ordered (even though my credit card was never charged). We stressed the urgency to him to order materials due to possible covid lead times or the possibility of items being discontinued, to no avails. We asked Jeff to pour footings before the temps dropped and he kept promising to come out "tomorrow" or "next week", but he was always a no-show with no follow-up about why he/his team never arrived on site. After 4 months of delays, the final straw was Jeff sent us a text saying- I have "good news, bad news". The bad news was even though Jeff informed us materials were ordered, he never ordered anything.... not deck boards, rails, lattice... anything. We were told, if you want work started, we would have to pay we pay an add'l $2,400 over the signed contract (or really $2,900 over the all cash alternative) due to material prices increasing. We asked for material quotes from before and after and got silence. Since the delays in ordering materials were not ours, we informed Jeff that we would be enforcing the contract rate and his response was he could not do the work for us at that price. If a contractor has you sign his legal contract, and doesn't honor his side- he's lost all his integrity. I'm sure if we called him up and said- hey Jeff, we have good new bad news- and the bad news is we're going to pay you $14,000 instead of $16,000- that wouldn't fly with him and he would enforce the contract on us. Due to zero work being performed at our home in nearly 4 months, we had to contact Angie's List to initiate the contractor complaint process, as well as, terminate our contract and provide legal notice to Jeff/Bowen Contracting that he was in Breach of Contract. Today, we finally received back our demand for full refund ($500 scheduling fee) for a job that was never scheduled. Jeff may be a nice guy, but buyer beware. Jeff is not a man of his word and gives you the run-around and that is going to be his downfall in business."
