"I'm so grateful for L&L Roofing! Lucas is very respectful, trustworthy, and honest. His integrity shines through his work. As the owner of the company, he personally came to do the inspection, provided a very reasonable estimate, and managed the job onsite himself. He ensured my roof was installed correctly and in a timely manner. He even provided an incredible workmanship warranty, which is amazing in and of itself, but I know I won't even need it. Thank you so much!"

"Greg was very informative and had pictures of the products available to replace my old roof. He matched the shingles to a more recent shed that was built which was great. Responds promptly to text and kept me informed through the entire process. The crew working on my roof were very polite, hard working and you’d never know they had been to my house. I love my new roof and would recommend Greg and his team to anyone who is looking to replace their roof and reasonably priced. I can’t thank you guys enough for an amazing job you did!!!"

"They were on time for the estimate and on time for the work that was performed. They removed my old shingles, tar paper, and vents and replaced them with new underlayment and GAF Timberline Shingles with new vents. The workers were efficient, knew what they were doing, worked extremely hard and long and did a great job. The project manager was on site much of the time and ready to answer any questions or respond to concerns. The new roof replaces one installed 19 years ago and the quality of the new roof greatly exceeds that of the previous roof. They cleaned up after they finished and did not destroy any flowers, shrubs, or plants. I would not hesitate to use them again."

"Perfection Roofing & Siding replaced our siding and painted the exterior, including the trim and chimney. The price quoted was the best of several I checked, and they were able to start within a couple days. Russ personally showed me around nearby houses to see the quality of their work. From start to finish, it took only four days. The crews were professional, on time, and did great work! The same day the siding was installed, the painters started prepping and caulking, and they painted the next day. They worked long hours in 95+ degree weather. I recommend Perfection Roofing and Siding, and I would call them again for future work!"

"Anthony provided detailed information, the work was excellent and clean up was thorough. All work and clean up was completed in a day. We have had several downpours since the new roof was installed and have had no problems with leaks. I would highly recommend Anthony and Georgia Roofing Systems."

"I recently purchased a new home and the former owner had a gas clothes dryer. Mine is electric, so I needed an outlet added to the laundry room and the electric panel. First, I wanted the outlet installed soon after I took possession and they were able to accommodate my timeframe. Second Jan (pronounced YAWN) arrived on time. Lastly, he performed excellent work. He even identified issues that my home inspector missed within the electrical panel and took the time to resolve them. He worked fast and worked well. I would recommend them to anyone. He is definitely my "go to" for electrical services."

"Everything went perfectly from start to finish.  Katrina came out very quickly after my initial call to give us an estimate.  She was on-time and very friendly, not pushy in any way.  She was upfront in telling me they do not attempt to be the lowest-cost contractor, but rather focus on quality, customer service, and having all the proper liability insurance in place.  This was fine with me, and I never even shopped for a lower price.  The only reason I gave Bear a "B" on pricing is that I assume you can find a cheaper alternative if that's your primary consideration.
On the day work began, Rob showed up first to evaluate the project.  He was prompt and also very friendly, as was Sonja whenever I spoke with her on the phone.  They both told me not to hestitate mentioning any issues that cropped up.   The work team showed up shortly after Rob.  They were very polite and congenial.  English was not a strength whenever Dolores was not around, but this wasn't a problem since all the decisions had been made while Rob was still there.
The crew was prompt--they arrived each day right at the time we discussed.  They were also very clean.  They put up plastic wherever necessary to shield my other rooms from dust or smells.  We had a few small drywall repairs made so dust was a small issue.   The crew cleaned up my house very well at the end of the day, and also at the end of the project.    Rob had told me the work would take 3 days at most, and they were done in 2, which was a nice surprise.
Sonja followed up by phone to be sure I was happy and completely satisfied.  To sum up, I would say Bear did exactly what we agreed upon, exactly when they were scheduled, and for the agreed upon price.  Great all-around experience.

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Lawrenceville, GA

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
