"Kyle was detailed in his inspection. We are pretty certain that if we went with another inspector, they likely would not have uncovered some of the issues Kyle uncovered.  He was also responsive. Something came up and we had to call him during Memorial Day weekend. He promptly returned the call and answered the questions though he had already delivered the report and been paid. <br />"

"Phil was great. The house was relatively new, around 22 years. We walked through and he did a good job explaining everything, and I felt he was thorough. We had purchased another house previously (Ridge Home Inspection, now retired), and I felt in comparison that his work and his report was more thorough. I regret a few things from our prior inspector, for example a horizontal hairline crack in the foundation that he noticed and commented on, but did not document. Doing so would have been helpful in documenting that the crack had not changed. I also felt our prior inspector did not spend as much time digging into issues. With Phil I left feeling more confident in the thoroughness, and his report covered all of the issues that were identified, with a good number of pictures. He also got the written report to me same day. He does skew on the side of caution (assume it's a problem unless proven otherwise / specialist investigates), which is also what you want as a buyer."

"Larry was very professional, friendly, and punctual.  He encouraged my wife and I to follow him throughout the inspection and he thoroughly explained everything that he was doing.  If there were any notes he was making, he took the time to make sure we understood what the flaws/etc were in the home, the severity of them, and gave recommendations on how to get the issues fixed.  I felt he took adequate amount of time for the inspection and he did get up on the roof to do a close visual inspection of the condition. <br /> I did give a B for price.  The standard inspection cost was quoted as $500 (included pest inspection and radon test) <br /> but we were not able to get the water turned on prior to the inspection and we also did not have the HVAC unit running prior to the inspection and, therefore, those systems could not be tested.  I explained this to the agent over the phone who set up the appointment.  I was told that since the water system would not be inspected, we would have a $25 discount (5% off total price) which is nice but I would have expected a little more of a discount since testing the water/sewer systems would have comprised more than 5% of the work to be done.  Overall I'm happy with the service that was provided, felt pricing was somewhat fair, and based on the experience we had with Larry I wouldn't hesitate to use BPG again. <br />"

"My tenant contacted me with concerns about mold on the ceiling and windows of their bathroom. This stemmed from a leak in the roof a few months earlier. I contacted Mike and he scheduled to take a look within that same week. He examined the bathroom, the other rooms in the house and the attic. He said that his product would eliminate the mold without having to rip up all the sheet rock, etc. We scheduled a time for him to come back to spray the product and he arrived as promised. It only took him a short time to spray the house and I was surprised how much the mold disappeared that same day. We scheduled a second visit just to make sure the product hit all the mold spores and it seemed to kill all the mold without having to replace the ceilings and walls. Also, he has a guarantee that if I see mold re-surfaced at all they will come and re-mediate. Overall I think this was a good, cost effective way to eliminate the problem and the tenants have not had any issues since.  <br />"

"John did a full inspection of the condo unit and produced a 16-page, highly detailed report. Ninety percent of the information in the report was something that I would have never thought to ask. I took his recommendations for repairs and submitted them to the seller with a request to fix the problems. John was very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend his services."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Lebanon, NJ

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
