"Donna B's team is always friendly and professional. Excellent work and clean up. Stephen and BJ are true pros. They answered questions, made helpful suggestions, and were very efficient. Plan to have them back in the New Year for more replacements and installs."

"They were efficient and professional.  Before the actual install, the designer helped to make sure that the walk in shower would be easy to use by my 96 year old mother.  They had great ideas that worked wonderfully. <br /> The only thing is that I ordered brushed aluminum door frame.  The frame looked brass to me. Even though I didn't really follow up on the issue until a couple of months later, they did send someone out to look at it and agreed that it did not look like the brushed aluminum.  They replaced the door frame. <br /> Although they have assured me that the frame is brushed aluminum, it still looks too brassy to me, but better than it did.  I loved their service but not the product. <br />"

"Dimone Plumbing has to be the most responsive plumbers I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. They have come to my house on four occasions and are already scheduled to return. They first came out to repair a shower, all it needed was a "stem" replaced. They came out again to go under our crawl space and remove much of the old galvanized steel plumbing no longer in use from under the house. They came out again to isolate and cap a well line that used to feed the house, so that when we repair the well it cannot flood under the house. They came out this last time to replace drain pluming under the crawl space that had corroded and begun to leak. They are coming out later this week to install a reverse osmosis water filtration system, as we get our water from the (GENX) polluted Cape Fear River. When we had an emergency (as in a leak under the house) they were on the scene within an hour! Wow! Very Impressive! The price below is a total of what I spent with Dimone Plumbing for the first four visits."

"We’ve used “Skipper’s Plumbing” for over 30 years. They are always honest, professional, friendly and fair. Over the years they have replaced water heaters, faucets, replaced broken water lines, cleaned clogged pipes and installed shower units. The work is ALWAYS top quality and guaranteed. I would recommend Skipper’s to anyone. Don’t confuse “Skipper’s Plumbing” with a different company in Wilmington called “Skipper Septic Tank Service” which I believe a previous negative review is actually about a bad experience with septic lines and septic tank tops left open. I know from our 30+ years experience with “Skipper’s Plumbing “ they always do quality professional work and would never do such a thing and ALL the other reviews for “Skipper’s Plumbing “ are very positive."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Leland, NC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
